About subaru slim

  1. thanks but i got the car done at dyno demon on friday
  2. Hi just have had my car mapped but due to a fault with the rolling road it had to be mapped the old way I am currently traveling from London to Cheshire are the any tunning companys around in the Cheshire area who can dyno test the bhp ony car will be in moulton this weekend and have a few spare hours
  3. ok well what can i say after having picked up my 03 plate wrx last month and caught the bug of modification and now my bank balance is a bit lighter there are still some things that i just cant get my head around what alloys would suit a sliver scooby have been looking around the internet for an answer but just cant make my mind up ,a common sight on the roads and from pictures are gold, gunmetal , sliver alloys....etc but i would like something a little different from the above that would suit my car any idears guys ,girls the second thing is brakes at the end of next month my car should be running just over the 300bhp mark now i am no scientist but the standard subaru brakes are not upto the job of getting me to stop or the car well looking at the prices of brembo brakes enougth said on the subject i was looking at the k-sport set up but some people have said that the only problem with them is that there are not dust covers on the pistons and after time can cause some problems i think that i will need to look into that subject as they are a decent price ,so am thinknig of getting a set of complete sti brakes ( anybody want to part with theres ) and hope they will do the job with some decent pads , i know there are alot of tunning companys out there that offer packages but what would be my cheapest and best route of getting the car to stop without turning the seats brown and my undercrackers although i caught the bug of this modification thing a question has to be asked ? when to stop ...the amount of money that people spend on cars can get a bit stupid i have friends not subaru owners who have spent well over 10k on there cars as a must have bling bling comes on the market they get it .well lucky for me i had it in my head that only bolt on QUAILTY mods at a fair price will get me to the 300bhp figure which has left me a little bit of a budget for wheels and brakes well sorry to bore you peace ...SLIM

  7. well i took the plunge and paid the membership fee just saying hello as a new member just bought my first subaru wrx on a 2003 by mistake (really wanted a skyline) but that had sold so now i own a impreza and loving it already ,Anyway i am going by the name of subaru slim and look forward to meeting other members
  8. thanks for the welcome i shall get some pictures up when i get the car , i really should of collected the car yesterday but when taking for a test drive last week something on the gearbox needed looking at so went to see the people attending to the car and left £1200 lighter well as the gearbox was in bits i thought that i would add a few mods while it was up on the ramps i guess a few more mods are in line as stated in another post but yesterday was a starting point i think this may get expensive due to the vast mount of upgrades that are around
  9. hi sounds good but wont be able to make any meets at the moment as the cars in the workshop but i shall
  10. ok now being new to the subaru scene and having just bought my firsrt wrx which is up on ramps waiting on a gearbox syncro (3-4 or something) have been told that it is a regular problem with a subaru now i thought that i would use the time while the car is at the garage just to add a few little mods to increase the bhp from the standard cars bhp so i have given myself a budget of around £2350 to increase the bhp so what would be a good place to start so any advice from other members would be great and me not knowing much about subaru's always been a die hard R-type fan but thought i would turn to the dark side , Now i have read that the car can handle upto 280bhp on the factory fitted turbo but not to sure about this ..so my figure would be around this mark or maybe even more if the turbo can take it my starting point on this would be to fit a full exhaust system then maybe a ecu re-map and also adding a intercooler i guess while the gearbox is out i will upgrade the clutch aswell so if anybody can advise me the way to go .... the car is a 2003 blobeye and totaly standard and was impressed after driving a modded impreza and thought oh yeah ..i will be craving more bhp toooo also i have been told that fitting a dump vavle makes the engine idle drop or run funny , but put that aside what make would other members recommend to fit manythanks a subaru virgin slim
  11. hi guys just looking through the london section not much going on am a new member based near heathrow when is the next meet planned?
  12. well here i am new to this forum but what am i doing here is it a mistake or not i ask myself maybe not, well the story is like this last weekend i checked my bank balance and decide that i have been working hard and had saved enougth money to treat my self ,So i called a friend of mine who is a jap importer and he said that he had a mint 1 owner standard nissan skyline gtr R33 arrived yesterday Now my so called friend knowing that this was the car that i have been thinking of getting for sometime now told me to come take alook so i headed off to pay him a vist so an hour or two later i arrived as he greated me with alook of content on his face i saw the car parked in the corner i asked my self is this ture am i really going to own a skyline but then he dropped a bombshell sorry its been sold i asked ,when he said around 40 minutes ago (only been on the website for oneday he said) i could of killed him on the spot but being a kind person i just had the coffee he offered So while sitting in his office looking out the window thinking what a bast*rd and catching up on old times i noticed that he had a few cars out on show and decided to look around so off i went there where 300zx ,slivia's,mr2 ,mercs, and a m3 bmw which i liked but then parked up in his workshop i saw it a sliver subaru i asked him about it " oh that he said with a smile on his face " i bought that for my wife but she drives like a dog on heat he said and explained that she would end up killing her self or somebody else as it was to fast for her so he got her a nissan micra we both laugthed i took a close look at the subaru it looked in good condition i asked my friend was kind it was (i am not an expert on these cars) so he explaind it was a standard subaru impreza 2003 facelift model awd wrx with 30,000 miles on the clock and 2 owners with his wife being the second owner i asked for a test drive no problem he said so off we went and ...oh boy what a drive going down country lanes and roads wizzing past little old ladies in there fords at 100 mph i thought to my self am i going to die or will i just need to change my pants so i took the second option with a big smile on my face i was impressed with the impreza ....so to cut this story short a deal was done which we both liked even a fair price he even gave me, 5000 in part exchange for my little suzuki swift (which i forgot to tell him had a few problems and thats why it took me along time getting to him ha ha) .. so all i had left to pay was 1000 so in total 6000 for a mint sliver impreza ,so soon i will be a proud owner of a subaru impreza wrx uk spec on a 03 plate but i think i made a good choice ...and comming across the SIDC forum i never knew what kind of community and folllowing subaru's had so now i say hello and thankyou for staying awake reading this and look forward meeting other owners someday ...thanks SLIM (skyline or impreza) =skyline =impreza just one last thing i keep reading about a subaru wave whats this
