About Tony classic 2000

  1. Yeah I've changed plugs and coils and gapped plugs correctly cheers
  2. I have a 96 uk 2000 which has decided it doesn't want to play any more. When hitting boost it runs very lumpy and has no powerand then sometimes jumps to 3 cylinders then back to 4. If I drive normal it's fine but the minute you even half floor it there no power, I've checked turbo Abd put another one on changed fuel pump to a walbro checked all pipes and intercooler check the maf. The car is chipped and has the fuel cut at 18 psi and is currently running 16 psi but never goes above this so can't be the fuel pump, I've tried new plugs and new coils and still no luck and I'm getting fed up now. When I read error codes I get 43 which is throttle switch so I bought a new one but even when set at the right volt at ecu still reads code after reset. Any help would be much appreciated as I want car back on road and I'm sick of driving van if I can't figure it out it will be garage job which I can't afford. Just to add I've had a compresion test done which come back fine
  3. Having problems with my96 when hitting boost it coughs and farts but doesn't have any power it's not hitting fuel cut and all pipes are fine I've changed plugs coils cam sensors cleaned and checked boost solonoid the car is boosting fine but just coughs I checked ecu fault codes and it brings up throttle switch I have bought a new one and can't get it set right if u set it at 4.5 v closed then it's wrong when open and if I set it at 0.9v open it's wrong when it's closed could this be causing the problem and if so how do I get it right Plz help
  4. I've checked and changed the spark plugs since problem started I'm going to check coils and cam sensor as my mates got them if that doesn't work then I'll give Harvey smith a ring and take it down. Thankyou for your help it's much appreciated and I'll deffinetly be using this site again cheers
  5. I think I might of solved it. I bypassed the boost solonoid so it was running 9 psi but left chip in so fuel cut off is 17 psi and has the same problem so it's not fuel. As the boost was lower it was easier to follow and the problem only occurs when going over 4k so I'm now thinking its either coils or cam sensor starting to brake down will try this tomorow hopefully. Now I have another problem, I've fitted a new throttle switch but can't get the volt readings right, if I get them right when open then it's not right closed and same if I get it right closed there wrong open and ideas as fault code won't go away????????

  7. Just to add I've now tried my mates standard ecu which was a z4 running 12 psi and problem is still there. Stuck again now. Does anyone know a good Subaru mechanic in northeast of England who may be able to help
  8. Ecu is chipped and rundown at 16 psi and ran like this before and was fine the fuel filter was replaced about 2 month ago and pump is unknown. However this morning I watched boost gauge and kept the boost down around 7 psi and it was fine but as soon as I gave it full throttle it went onto 3 pots. So I think your right with it being the fueling. Any ideas on what to buy to fix this and thanks for your help
  9. Just to add fault code is Reading for throttle switch which I have replaced and got it near enough bang on with volts at ecu but still Reading same fault but don't think this could make it jump onto 3 cylinders any help welcome
  10. Hi I'm newbie and need some help I've owned my classic 2000 for a year now and have done a few mods on it recently I put a s/s manifold on which improved it's pick up but now when it hits boost it hesitates and has no power then hops onto 3 pots if you come out of gear and give it a few revs it goes back onto 4. I've replaced all boost pipes to front mount intercooler including joints I've put new plugs in all gapped correctly. Checked vacuum pipes and can't find and splits. Any one got any ideas as I'm all out and can't afford to replace everything only to find out it was something simple Any help would be very helpfull just to add before putting manifold on it was running fine help plz
