  1. What sort of price are they going for with full mot??? At the end of the day I just want to move it on with as little hassle as possible I have had a look at the prices but im unsure what to ask for mine,
  2. I v'e decided to part with my impreza,I have just bought another car for work. The Impreza is a 97 Turbo 2000 with 87k on the clock,it has a couple of dinks on the bodywork, recently had a new clutch/lightweight flywheel and new shocks allround,it has a slight leak on the driver side rocker gasket. Although the car drives perfectly well there has been a slight rumble/vibration on over run which ive been told is the exhaust vibrating but i think that it may be the box itself(being honest) The car is out of mot soon so, What is it worth with and without mot????? I know that it wont require much for the mot but time aint on my hands and its hard enough parting with it as it is without lookihg at it sitting there each day.
  3. I feel sad to say that the family car is a new Astra estate. I really do want to keep the scoob but somehow I dont think my bosses would like me driving around and visiting jobs in that. It is still a good car and a bit of cash will see it good again but I now dont have the time to spend sorting it out. I mentioned that I was having second thoughts to the wife and she stormed off I've got till tomorrow evening to decide so the wife better be nice to me or the scooby stays.
  4. The time has come to part with my impreza, It is getting on a bit and the gearbox looks to be developing a rumble and the signs are showing it will soon be needing a bit work. I now get a vehicle allowance from work so I went out today and got a decent deal on "A family car" as the wife puts it. The scoob is getting traded in but I still feel pretty gutted at parting with it. Maybe in a few years I will get another.
  5. yes all done properly, I have searched this problem and found that it is quite common but cant find any answers to fix the problem. I did see one post where it said that the preload needs to be adjusted on the front diff bearings using shims but surely if the bearings are worn then they should be replaced.
  6. I have changed the prop, rear diff and the bearings on the output shaft and drop gear and still making the grinding noise. It doesnt sound extreme, it sounds like the exhaust vibrating (yes this has been checked ) The noise seems to travel to the rear of the car this is why I changed the rear diff and prop. The vibration when accelerating is definately getting worse. I do want to fit another box but it will be a used box and not a recon unit but again will these issues appear with another box or should I refit the original flywheel when the box is replaced???
  7. Im looking for some advice here, The gearbox in my 97 uk turbo makes a sort of grinding noise on overrun and im starting to notice a vibration when accelerating. This all started to happen after fitting a new clutch and lightweight flywheel. Im thinking that it is the front diff bearings starting to go. Each gear is smooth and it never jumps out. Is this common after fitting lightweight flywheels?
