About Hum22a

  1. Was looking after the pennies till I found a new job but looks like a map is necessary if I want the engine to last! Looks like andy Forrest is going to get a call really soon!
  2. I have sourced a type ra ecu. I think the car should run ok with this until I'm finished modding and get it mapped
  3. The car is a 93. I have sourced a type ra ecu. Will it be a straight swap?
  4. After posting about my scooby running problems on here, iv confirmed the scooby needs a remap as its running a wrx ecu with a type ra engine which cant be doing the car any favours atm. So i was wondering where I should tkae the car for a map? Also, would I be better of just sticking a type ra ecu in for now and getting it mapped properly when iv finished modding the car?
  5. It must be spiking then? Not really clued up on imprezas but basically car always comes on boost and holds boost fine but sometimes you can feel as if its not fully spooled up and if you let go and put your foot down again it boosts properly. It always comes on boost feels as if it's spiking/surging. How can I tell which ecu it has? Any part numbers etc? And I must be right in thinking it's not doing the car any favours Yes car is running a janspeed turbo back exhaust and decat and a hks mushroom filter and a ssqv dv.
  6. Just bought my first impreza and have a few questions for you guys! The car started life as a wrx but is now apparently running a type ra closed deck engine with a td05 20g turbo and a close ratio gearbox. The car isn't running 100 percent at the moment and i'm looking for some pointers as to what the problem could be. I have been told the car is still running a wrx ecu. The car comes on boost around 3500 rpm but the boost seems to creep sometimes. The car is also running a hks ssqv dv also and was wondering if this could also be the cause. I think first thing on my list should be a remap when funds allow. Looking forward to your comments and suggestions!
