  1. Totally agree with the lack of skill thing, so many young ones i know think that it's all to do with the performance of the machine and dont take the time to get used to the power and bring the performance of their driving up to match, hence the reason so many are bumped or written off.
  2. lol obviously that was one of my 'work in progress' pictures. On that note i dont actually think i have any completed engine pictures lol. And i dont waste my time with the pedal cars anymore, i'm much more mature than that now . Cheers Dave
  3. Whats wrong with wee 1.0 corsa drivers???????? I resemble that remark Can bee good fun for the ones who do try tho And before im chased by an angry mob I'm not claiming anything here Oh how i love my Chav Charriot sometimes
  4. I've got Falken ZE 912's on the front of my Corsa Redtop and for the money you can get them at they are great on both wet and dry roads. Seem to give alot of better known, dearer tyres a run for their money as well in the tyre test results that i looked at.
  5. Hi peeps i've done a search around the forum and cant find the answer. What i would like to know is how to work out the ratios to match a gearbox to a diff. My current situation is i've bought a gearbox and diff to fit to my UK impreza, checked the number on the box to confirm it is indeed from a UK spec 1996 Impreza and i was told the diff i got with it was from the same car. Stripped the backplate off the diff today to double check what i'd been told and when i divided the number of teeth on the crown wheel (39) by the number on the pinion (11) it came out to 3.545. Now according to the gearbox chart the final drive on the box (TY752VN4BA) is 4.11 so should this diff not also be a 4.11 ratio to match the box or am i just not understanding and working it all out incorrectly Would really appreciate if someone could take the time to explain how it's worked out if i've got it wrong. Cheers David
  6. If it's any help mate i think most lawyers will give you a free half hour consultation, if you phone around they will let you know over the phone. Hope you get it sorted.
  7. Thanks i had looked at the chart and ratios but i had noticed reading a few old posts that there were some changes with the EJ205 engine compaired to the previous engines and wasn't sure if they would cause problems bolting it together, still trying to learn the ins and out of imprezas lol. It would be good if someone could post up a list of changes and/or compatability issues between the previous engine codes and the EJ205 which i have if it wasn't to much trouble(or indeed point me in the direction of the post if it's been done previously). Cheers David
  8. Yes m8 your totally right it's : TY752VN4BA. I'm not overly worried about it being weaker at the moment tbh as it's a means to an end for me at the time being and as i'm only aiming for standard power figures i didnt see it would cause any problems, it is good to have it pointed out tho for future reference and for anyone else looking for replacement box's cheers.
  9. did you get this sorted through finding the chart m8? If not by the looks of it it should be the same as mine being: TY754VN1AA I just got a different box delivered for mine about an hour ago so hoping it will do the job being as it's from a 96 model. Good luck with your search.
  10. Ok just taken collection of my new gearbox and diff (new to me). Checked the part number on the box and the guy on ebay had listed the part number totally wrong as i suspected . The proper number is :6M-TY752VN4BA Ive checked the charts and found this to be from a : UK/Europe Impreza Turbo 2000 / GT MY96 Just edited to say my origional gearbox number should be : TY754VN1AA Could someone please confirm that this box will fit my engine (engine number in post 5). Also how do i now check that the diff will definaitly match the gearbox i.e are there any numbers i can look for and charts i can match them to like the gearbox's? Cheers peeps
  11. Front and side m8, rears will stay as standard.
  12. lmao yea i'm getting to that I was thinking crystal myself shennan, how you doing? You still on the dreaded night shift? Will give you a phone tomorrow at some point as i should be getting my gearbox and diff delivered, i'll text you first to make sure your up. David
  13. Just a quick one folks, whats the general opinion for which lights would suit my colour of car best, either the crystal clear ones or the crystal black? Picture of the car below to give you an idea of colour. Cheers David
  14. That would be good mate if you could, i'll pm you a copy of my email address. The only real issues i need to find out i think are A. will it be compatable with my engine, i.e will it all bolt up ok, the engine type as listed on the chassis plate is EJ205NW1KD B. Will it handle the power (i will only be running standard engine with a VF turbo (not sure what model but it's just a standard Impreza one to the best of my knowlege), decat exhaust, filter and hopefully a front mount as i dont like the idea of the top mount coolers) Being that i am getting the gearbox and a matching diff to go with it i dont think there will be any problems that way. Really just wanting conformation that it is an impreza turbo box and not from for example a sport or something like that. Cheers David
  15. Cheers mate, the guy i'm buying it from said he bought it from a guy down south that recon's them and that they were from a WRX but i just got woried when i couldnt find the number lol. Anyone else able to tell me for sure? Cheers David
