  1. Not had to replace the screen yet but have a number of minor chips, one of them right in my vision. Going to leave it as even a repair leaves a small mark. My screen seems to attract stone hits. Checked with my insurance about having a genuine Subaru replacement screen instead of the normal windscreen company product. They advised I may have to pay the extra over for the subaru screen on top of the normal £60 excess. They said they would discuss it with me if I wanted to go down that route. TOC
  2. Just seen this. Similar to AIiT in that noise appears to come from front offside, mainly on rougher roads and sounds like a bird tweeting. Intermittant and mainly in the colder weather. Could be coming from anywhere on the dash I suppose as it is just one large sound box. Not causing any probs apart from annoyance. May get dealer to have a listen when I get PPP fitted hopefully next week.
  3. No, not me but will keep an eye out. As you say not many about, although I have seen a blue one around the biggin Hill airport area.
  4. If by the new one you mean the hatchback style, I have a MY09 version in Metallic Grey. Keep a look out for it pottering around between Biggin Hill and Bromley. Having come from a Renaultsport background I can't compare it to other scooby models, but compared to the Meg R26 that I had it far exceeds it and the Meg is a very very good car. A friend of mine at work has the same model with the prodrive pack, (gives it a bit more burble) and on 18" wheels which to be honest suit it better than the standard 17's which I have. (My opinion). The ride could be a little firmer but that is easily solved although the same friend changed back from prodrive suspension set up to the standard after driving mine. It is extremely flexible, i.e. good for general bodding about in town and the traffic, but put your foot down and she picks up her skirts and absolutely flies. The DCCD was brilliant in the snowy weather especially the Auto+ setting. The Sports Sharp setting is excellent, although I tend to do most of my driving in the Sport setting, using the intelligent mode for warm up. Practically it has stacks of room in the rear and the back seats fold giving even more. Yes when you first look at it, it is a bit of an ugly duckling (or unusual), but I like it and it does get a few looks from others on the road. Driving it makes me feel good. Can't put my finger on exactly why it just does. Get yourself a test drive I don't think you will be disappointed. I'm sure BMWhere on this forum has done a very informative write up on the car. (Apologies if I have this wrong). Can't comment on the Evo as not had any experience with them. Whatever you choose I hope you enjoy it. The Old Codger.
