Yeah that goes without saying. what i was expecting was maybe one or two of the regular members to come forward and say "Hi,welome to the site...glad your looking at getting a subaru,great cars! But watch out for.....oil pumps (Can be a nightmare if the grub srews come loose and it spins the bearing....new engine time most likely) Rattly or crunching gearboxes (£400 a piece) Flywheels,tend to get scored by the dodgy clutch....etc,etc....." Instead you get **** loads of views and no replies... "Oh,Im too good to post a reply to this noob" Translates in my language as "im a stuck up middle aged buisness man who bought a scoob and now thinks its the best thing on the planet,Im not going to reply to this jumped up little scrote who's only buying a turbo...not even an sti,but a lowly turbo!" cheers all,might aswell delete my account and ban my ip,i know where not to look for enthuiastic subaru owners.

Hi all,I currently have a 92 honda civic,but am looking to sell due to family expanding. Ive been in contact with a guy from pistonheads and am thinking about doing a straight swap for his R reg turbo wagon. Ive never been to up on Impreza's so was wondering if you could give me some advice on what to look out for apart from the ususal knocks and smoke? Like I said,its a 98 R reg 2.0 turbo wagon. 9 owners from new,never been in a recorded accident or written off/scrapped. It has 106k on the clock. Bodywork looks tidy,but im not too worried about cosmetics,just want to make sure the engine and running gear are sound. Thanks nathan
