Thanks, it's says the front brakes have been upgraded by Subaru so will check. He is asking £3,800 ono. His friend was the previous owner (5 years) and was a member of a Subaru Owners club, didn't ask which one tho... he bought it off him as he knew that he was getting a cherished car, not one that had been messed about with. Sounds like he is charging a premium for that. If I like it I will have to consider what offer I make I guess...

Hi all, Just registered on here and am looking to view a Subaru Impreza tonight (for sale privately) . I wanted to know if there is anything that I should typically look out for i.e. common problems? It's a standard UK 2000 Turbo AWD with Prodrive factory fitted pack 1998 and done 80k miles with full Subaru history.... Apparently it's been looked after but I'm not a mechanic. I normally chekc the following... 1. General look of the vehicle, external view, tyre tread etc. 2. Listen to the engine idling - the only thing here that I would spot in knocks or unusual noises 3. Look at the exausht under revving to spot copious amounts of smoke etc. 4. Test drive 5. Check paperwork Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
