Thanks for the info guys. Reckon thats what it is then. Cable still attched, so will replace and hopefully that dammed light will go out!

Hi, can anyone tell me if M reg 95 WRX has speedo cable or electronic? Also, if speedo fails, is there a sensor detecting this?. My speedometer stopped working on the Monday but no warning lights. After a long (100 mile round trip) Check Engine light has appeared although car seems to be running ok. Any help please?
