i take it there pro and con's for each version of STi model impreza?? The only difference i can tell between some versions is the vents on the bonnet/headlight shape and that i believe V5/6's have a bigger boot spoiler, but unfortunately people also fit them to the earlier versions, which obviously makes it harder to tell them apart. Would an STi be best choice for the money though?? Its just a hard decision on what to do, as im at a place now is do i spend more money on current car which is only really good in straight lines or sell and get something like a scooby which i think handle great but costs alot more than my car would to tune. Unforunately dont know anyone who's really big into the scooby scene though so wouldn't really haven anyone to have a look at some with if i went to view any

cheers for your help i think ill look into the STi's, ideally id prefer the Type R but very rare one would come into my price range and the ones that are seem to be the early version, i think ive read someone its usually to go for the later ones as these seem to be for "Mod Friendly" due to them having things like a remappable ECU as standard and that standard engines can take upto around 400bhp on standard internals etc

id be happy with either uk or import would ideally lean towards imports as they have more power as standard, plus ideally dont want anything slower than current car which is running 270bhp. Which model is below the Type R model's? would that be the STi??

Would prefer to have one with abs aswell i know the RA's never came with them, but heard the RA's come with best standard of engine if correct?

Hey folks, first post on this forum and probably asking a question that may appear upon here quite often so sorry if thats the case . But basically im thinking of selling my current car and with the money from that and any cash i save up i will have roughly around £4 - 4.500 to spend on one. But what im wanting to know is for the money which is the best impreza i can buy, mainly for things like out the box power and which will benefit best from future performance upgrades and that can cope with good power etc without having to worry about uprated internals etc Thanks in advance for anyhelp
