  1. Thank you all for the awesome comments, I really appreciate it. Today I went out and got the fog-light covers... they came in black. What do you think? Should I paint them white or keep them black? I like the contrast alot though...
  2. ...And we're done :-) Now I just have to order a WRX/STI cluster and a manual shifter trim from ebay and the dash is complete.
  3. Looks good, we are almost done. Tomorrow we are going to custom fit the dash beam in-order for everything to sit tight, and we're done. Note that the shifter frame is an AUTO, and I'm still using the same old GC8 gauge cluster due to a lack of funds. I will however, replace the stock cluster and the A/T frame when I get the money.
  4. Last night was hard, really hard. After a good 7-8 hour sleep we gathered and continued with the swap.
  5. Sorry for the dark pics, it was dark (doh) Thats about it, we will continue tomorrow after a good sleep. ;-)
  6. We started working on the MY06 harness, trying to figure out what goes where and why. After a couple of hours of frustration and second thoughts, I decided to do it no matter what. It is not easy, especially since this is the first ever dash swap in my country. We don't have anyone to ask for help or to advice us, give us tips, nothing. Frankly, I was scared ****less. If I made through the overwhelming days she was at the body shop, surely I will make it through this one. Anyhow, we started at 4pm and stopped at 5:30am, we were so tired we couldn't move a muscle. We ordered some pizza first :-)
  7. Cherry. But I don't smoke, it is my friend who does
  8. Last night I laid out all the dash parts in the drive-way; there is a lot of work ahead of me ;-)
  9. Months have passed since the idea of swapping the dashboard first went through my mind, yesterday I chose to take the first step. Yesterday I've found my perfect donor car, a MY07 L. The dashboard is in perfect condition.
  10. I couldn't help myself... A Vortex Generator HKS FCD JDM Kouki tails! Later that night, at a local meet. She's a little dirty
  11. 350HP should be enough for a while, wouldn't you agree? Since money is the ruling factor in this project, I can't afford myself to put a bigger turbo only because the cost of the supporting mods... it would be an overkill. (standalone ems, stronger gearbox, better clutch, larger injectors, fuel rails, fmic etc etc...).
  12. The new engine is in, getting ready for her first start-up... Primed, and she fired up at the first crank!
  13. This month was full of surprises, ups and downs, nerves and laughs, sweat and tears. I'm glad this is all over. Meanwhile at A.R.T Performance, a 2.2L Stroker engine was being built for her. The parts STI 2.5L crank MRT lightweight Flywheel Heavy duty Cutch OEM timing belt kit ACL bearings and OEM headgasket Open Deck block was chosen for personal reasons Pauter Rods IHI TD05-16G Samco silicone Y pipe Perrin inlet The clutch and flywheel again Wiseco Pistons Engine assembly... That's all for now, I'll be updating soon in a couple of days.
  14. Thank you, but this project is far from over.
