  3. Had my car over to edinburgh this morning for e re map with alistair.A bit of background i put a 2.0 ltr block in last autumn , the engine would not start so contacted alistair for a bit of advice , over he came from edinburgh to Airdrie on a week night, hooked his laptop up to my ecu and done his stuff . turns out one of the engine bearings had collapsed ( robbing bas***d of pistonheads)so was ripped of and had to start again .

2.5 fully forged block went in built by craig mcd got the car back end of january , once again alistair came out on a week night evening and put a base map on for running in .

Engine run in car was booked in for its first proper map with alistair through in edinburgh, turns out i needed a new neutral select sensor and 3 port boost selonoid so over to craigs for the work.

Back over to trackhounds this morning for a re map , all going well although with the forged pistons there was a knock being detected as the pistons are a wee bit noisy its just the way they are , anyway we settled on

    310 bhp

    355lbs torque

the pulling power this has in mid range is awesome , its a totally transformed car , although i was advised my gearbox is on borrowed time so start the saving for the 6 speed and an md, so keep a space available alistair ill be back

thanks to trackhound he spent a lot of time and effort sorting little problems today top bloke thanks :icon_salut:

  4. There was a lothians meet in livingston at deerpark arranged by braveheart last year, it was reasonably well attended as i think it was more due to location being central , i like to attend as many meets as i can but queensferry it just to far for the westeners to get to , would be up also for weekend meets .

  5. im running my new block in at the moment and also due to petrol prices , unbelievably i am getting around 35 to the gallon but that is sitting at 50 mph and yes i know that is unnatural for a scoobie to be going that slow but it can be achieved , it does make for a long boring commute from airdrie to greenock everyday
