i had this problem 1 day after tinkering with the engine in my 2001 classic. was like hitting a brick wall at about 4000rpm. i sh*t myself! i checked all the boost pipes for leaks when i got home, turned out i had knocked the bottom pipe off the boost solenoid, oopsie! re fitted the pipe, prob solved. i would check all the boost pipes.

just back from my visit to Duncan at Hypertech. a bit dissapointed with the result. 203bhp/220ftLb was hoping for around 220bhp but it is running rich, so Duncan insisted its not that bad. Duncan also gave me a few tips how to get it running right and what my next mods should be. i took a few videos i will upload when i get home on mon, poor sound quality, was taken on my fone and i was too close to the fan. what a noise it made and what a roar the car made!!! should have seen the size of the grin on my face!!! would recomend Duncan to anybody. good guy and a great service! and my engine didn't go pop.

booked Duncan today. 12:30 a week tomorrow. they had no probs fitting me in.

what kind of price am i likely to pay???
-
wow, most of that is over my head. like, i have a scorpion full stainless system from the turbo back and a green panel filter, i thought FMIC would be my next mod then a remap. but there is no mention of FMIC in the mods list for a level 1 remap. also it says that there will be increased lag after a gearshift and sometimes induces compressor surge if fitted before it is necessary. when is it necessary? is it too soon for me to go down this road? is there other things i need to do first like Walbro 255 fuel pump?

i will be giving Duncan at Hypertech a call tomorrow. my next question is on Remapping. where to go? price? discounts etc. for future reference.

hi folks. im heading to Glasgow next weekend (Thur or Fri), and im taking the scoob. so im thinking i should get it on a rolling road to see what its putting out. can anybody point me in the direction of one in the Glasgow area. is it too short notice? it will be my first time. not the scoobs tho, there is a clip of it on ou tube on a rolling road, the car must have had a fault at the time as they failed to get proper readings. help is much appreciated.

i would agree. i had the same problem, replaced the MAF sensor and now its fixed. if you do a search for this type of topic at the bottom of the main page you will find loads of advice as it is a very common fault.

ye pal, hundred bucks closer
-
ye, was a quick turn around! i dont rate induction kits. i have a green panel filter already and a stainless from turbo, so fmic and a remap is next on the list. that will do me. handling is fine. that was adressed before i got the car.

ha ha, your right enough RA Dunk! did a search on scoobynet and on here, im thinking now the money would be better spent elsewhere! cheers bud!
-
because then i would have nothing to show for my £100

thoughts go out to all families involved. a very sad day.

fixed my boost problem today by cleaning out the boost solenoid. pulling like a train now! but, got some idling gremlins now ECU says AF sensor. will get to that tomorrow night. Ive settled on gun metal mate, i might sell these wheels, they are too hard to clean. there is a lip inside the spokes were all the s**t of the day gathers. get her running sweet first and a boost gauge and turbo timer . that's my plans for the immediate future.
