  8. couple more videos, note my poor start against the Lotus this wagon had 268bhp, was a close one.
  9. lol, what a comeback!! i was trying to feather the throttle at 3500 - 4000 rpm, didn't get a chance tho, was not expecting the lights to come down that fast. and the second one i screwed up, didn't even get a chance to get my revs up! my reaction times are a bit pants, 0.402 and 0.490. the race was run at the Stornoway airport, not on the main strip mind! the setup is ace, the tarmac is imaculate! the next one is for charity on the 25th of July. cant wait, hope i can make it, I've caught the 1/4 mile bug!!!!
  10. lol nice, better takeoff than i got. was even worse the second run. nearly stalled! it was my first ever drag, thats my excuse!!!!
  11. short video of my car in the drag on sat

  14. what do you folks think of this kit? i love it!!!!!!
  15. Shavtastick
  16. sorry oobster, forgot that. Na, they will not be featuring Gunn's scoob. its more a pimp my ride type of feature than a scoob feature. it prob wont go ahead when i tell them i dont want to put a kit on it,i havnt seen any kits i like, the classic shape is much nicer as standard. i dont really want to change the colour either, but they might be able to twist my arm and get me to go for rb5 grey.
  17. how would your old scoob be on the program oobster?
  18. hi folks, i was recently approached by BBC ALBA's car program, ''air an rathad'' (on the road) to do a piece on my scoob. they first of all were offering a full respray at the Kenny Laird Body Styling workshop in Glasgow (for free). now they are wanting to make things more interesting, they are asking me if i want to put a body kit on it. is there any out there that wont make my classic scoob look like a chav mobile? i was thinking a p1 type spoiler and a roof scoop but i think they want more. maby wide arch? i dont know. anybody got any ideas? i really dont want to spoil the classics naturally stunning looks.
  19. right. was getting worried the matrix wouldn't be fixed for the drag race we are having in Stornoway a week sat, (with our clubs brand new lighting tree and timing system imported from America) that the dash would still be in bits. haven't had a chance to get near it till tonight., then i had a brainwave, bypass the matrix, no heating but no coolant leakage either. so i can now wait until after the event before striping the interior to bits. crisis averted. phew
  20. dont have aircon mate. was hoping it might be a split pipe or something easy to get at. if its the heater matrix its a dash out job, again!
  21. started smelling coolant in the car last night. was worse today. have some water coming through to the passenger foot-well from behind the glove box. whipped the glove-box out and found water dripping from here can anybody tel me what this is and the likely cause? and how to fix it? the heater matrix was replaced (for a second hand one) 2 months ago.
  22. can somebody point me in the direction of a company i can get new better plugs an leads from? who do you folks use?
  23. my MAF went about a month ago, got the CEL light on and showed the fault codes for the MAF, knock sensor and o2 sensor. the car was idling rough and stalling, i was advised on here to disconnect the MAF plug (with the engine off) and if when fired up again the idling improved then my MAF was goosed. i did that and sure enough it did improve. the revs were still a bit lumpy tho, so it wasn't working properly. eventually the MAF got so bad, 1 day when i accelerated the car jolted violently. was undriveable. so i pulled over, switched of the engine, disconnected the plug on the MAF, fired it up again and it went fine. not perfect, but it got me from A to B till my new MAF came. (i drove it of boost) i am not an expert, so please don't go jumping down my throat because my input is not the same as yours, this is just advice i got when i had my MAF prob and it worked for me.
  24. mate, try a search for 'boost' or 'MAF' in the 'Strictly Technical' loads of similar posts there. does your car idle lumpy? have you connected the 2 black connectors under the steering column to check for faults? is your car standard apart from the center de-cat?
