  1. The RB5 shell was knackered. It was rotten and beyond repair. Bought a P1 needing an engine and used that as a base for the project. It became project 494 as that was the P1's build number. Should have made the required 494bhp but not been rolling roaded to prove it
  2. Car all painted and out for a blast
  3. There was obviously a lot more to it than just that but some I didn't take photos of and some work done by a mate. Will it start? http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/ciaranboylan/P1%20494/th_24298C6C-ACBC-448A-93B5-7C142FB20F5F_zpssjgnfofr.mp4 That was just on the standard ECU to check for leaks. I had a map sent to me for the Syvecs and uploaded that and it was mapping time. Mapping went fine although my MAP sensor maxed out stopping play at 1.9bar. Estimated at high 400bhp Mapper advised a 4 bar map sensor, 20% methanol and a narrower up pipe to assist spool and it will smash 500. A rough spec list as it is now Engine Forged 2.1 in CDB 900cc injectors Walboro 450 lift pump and Bosch 044 transfer pump Syvecs S6 PNP ECU with toucan and oil/water/air temperature sensors oil/boost pressure sensors Standard P1 heads 11mm cosworth 260k psi head studs RCM rotated set up with 50mm turbo smart VTA external wastegate Garret GT30 0.63 with billet compressor wheel H&S custom made 3" system Drivetrain/brakes 5 speed PPG dog box with cusco front diff and Modena center diff. Exedy twin plate clutch Converted to R180 rear end with uprated rear drive shafts AP 6 pot 330mm front brakes 2 pot brembo rear brakes There's a whole little parts that are not on that list but that's the basics The 2.1 is 15k old and getting tired so a new forged 2.1 is being built with 14mm head studs and CNC'd fully uprated AVCS heads.
  4. For 500bhp we needed to ensure there was plenty fuel. Walboro 450 lift pump fitted in tank and in the boot mounted on A bit of carbon sheet, the Bosch 044, inline filter and swirl pot. Braided lines run through the car
  5. Well a wee while since an update. In that time we had our first addition to our family called Patrick born 21/12/13 One would have thought that would be game over for the project but it was actually a blessing in disguise as i changed employer 5/2/14 so chose to leave my old job the end of November to be sure to see our child being born. I was under orders to stay sober and no go far so very handy that "the shed" is 50 yards from the house. This spurred me on and we got the engine fitted. The engine went in and all the custom bits started. Reversing the inlet manifold sounds easy. It's not it hits the bonnet, the ICV and TPS leads aren't long enough, the vacuum pipe for the brakes is at the wrong side the alternator is in the way and the normal intercooler pipe does not fit. So I decided why not just modify the inlet manifold, cut the throttle body boss off and lower it and tilt it and get it welded by a pro. Had a boss welded on for the brake vac pipe, extended the wiring, made custom intercooler pipes, bought a carl davey alternator relocation kit and fabed a few brackets.. The result Original vs mine
  6. Stopped updating it on here as I didn't think anybody was reading it. I will update it over the next few days
  7. Yes real shame. I moved to .net due to lack of local meets on here
  8. Just went quiet mate hardly ever come on here these days. Only own a 500bhp P1 now
  9. Straight cut dog engagement gearbox plus liking to drive my car properly means I wouldn't be taking any child in my car.
  10. Been a few years ago and it was epic. Doubt I will make one next year as the wife is due our first in Dec.
  11. No she didn't mr and mrs
  12. Well few changes to spec list. Sold the Alcatek and bought a Syvecs S6 ECU along with a toucan Also bought the start point of next years new engine. 2.5 with closed deck conversion from AS performance with 14mm head stud conversion and Bored, honed and decked for a set of pistons included in the sale also bought a new EJ25 crank and I now just need suitable rods and bearings. Plan is for 500/500 and reliable
  13. You would be cheaper to hire one than come and get mine
  14. Where about in the country are you? Have a 2 tonne lift in the shed if you needed to borrow
  15. Couple of new goodies
