  1. Ok well sounds like i hace found my problem....is it best to go to subaru direct or can this be done yourself? were can i find some at a reasonable price?
  2. read this on another topic about suspension and this is exactly what i'm experiencing. so looks like i need new shocks....
  3. I've had this knocking noise coming from the back of my car for a while and never thought to get it sorted which is a bit silly really but anyway it has got worse...it's most noisy when going over bumps and coming to a slow stop. Any ideas what this could be? and where to look on the car to see were the problem may be?
  4. Awesome thanks for the help.. I hope that first link is the right one as its lovely and cheap...lol.. Tried subaru genuine parts no luck there...and o2sensor are looking for £210...
  5. I found out a while back i need an O2 sensor and haven't got around to sorting it yet, i thought i'd make a few enquires and get some prices and my local subaru dealer just told me if its the front OXY sensor it's £210.83 + vat... I don't think i'll be buying that one!! does anyone know where i can get one for a 2001 WRX? for a reasonable price.... Edit: I also need a front tow hook cover in blue if anyone has one...
  6. lmao never thought of that...could be a bit pricey tho...think she may be warming to the scoob as she was talking to a friend that wants one and my gf said "I have one of those, its a mad car" when its not actually hers its mine so good sign there... Just have to see how it goes but its looking good for the moment, I even showed her all these comments which helped...
  7. Thats the point even when you drive like a bint on a sunday afternoon the mpg ain't that great....
  8. I Had Eagle F1's before the RS2's and found the Eagles wern't as good in the wet but still a good tyre but pricey, imo the RS2's are better all round and cheaper...
  9. Thanks for all your comments, i think i have won her around on the performance side of things but having a problem on the expenses side lol.....especially the mpg...
  10. None of the so called "popular" ones are that great in my opinion if i were you id be looking at Uniroyal RS2, awesome in the dry and oustanding in wet best tyres i have ever driven on... http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Uniroyal/Rainsport-2.htm
  11. Here is the problem im now facing, we are expecting our first child in december and the subaru is in the firing line from the other half.... I really want to keep it as i feel its a nice size car and is my pride and joy, but the gf wants me to change it for something more "suitable" as she thinks its to fast, dangerous and expensive!! Does anyone else use there Scoob as a family car? i really dont want to get rid of it as i see it as a good family size car and feel its only fast and dangerous if you drive it fast and dangerous but do agree that it is quite expensive to run.... What do i do, hmmm?
  12. No thats my point? lol.....thats why i find it strange, i'm not saying by any means girls shouldn't like them but for me it will be the stereotype reaction (the bf/husband has let them drive there car etc etc)....(I'm still digging) With all due respect I never thought it was a girl thing, i mean i have seen the odd chav missus in a yoghurt pot saxo etc....most of you ladies may even know more about cars then me just never thought a scoob would appeal to a lady....
  13. I have actually always thought girls/ladies in scoobs is odd (sorry) lol, I always say "oh look out in thier bf's car" (again apologies), oh the stereotype..... I have always wondered why they would want such a car tho? every female i know just see's car's as an a to b thing and dont seem intrested in anything like a performance car? so i would like to be enlightened on that one... The first thing im waiting for is "same reason guys want one" but not sure thats the case... Im asking for trouble here....LOL
  14. 01. Koenigsegg CCX 02. Bugatti Veyron 03. Ferrari F40 04. Lamborghini Contach 05. Lamborghini Gallardo 06. Porsche 911 Turbo 07. Gumpert 08. Ferrari Enzo 09. Maclaren F1 10. Lotus Exige Quite an exotic list and thats only my first garage....lol
  15. I never think of the obvious...lol... Does anyone have an old bugeye bumper of know of any bugeye's that are being strip for spares etc that may have one????
  16. Everything looks awesome apart from the grill....lol (imo), I have never understood the open grill look to me it looks like there is something missing either it has been nicked of fell off.... just looks odd something needs to go there....... P.s. love the paint job..
  17. Yeah totally understand the cost aspect with owning a scoob.... To be honest i was one of these that hated subaru's, and it wasn't till my mate persuded me to drive one that i realised how awesome they were to drive and how solid they feel not to mention its power and handling and for me thats worth the extra expense even tho i cant afford it at times.....lol As long as its a car you love driving everyday then who is to argue....
  18. Not sharing the love here.......not sure why you would replace your scoob for that imo....
  19. It would appear that some little chav has nicked the front tow eye cap on my bumper, so now i have a nice hole in my bumper which doesnt look to good.... Does anyone know where i can get hold of a new one? Thanks
  20. Heat it? not sure if i like the sound of that...lol, knowing my luck something will go wrong and i'll end up melting my headlamp? are they not just two parts clipped together? i looked at my headlamp and it sort of looks like 2 parts clipped together? I have chrome amber flashing bulbs ready to go....
  21. I was looking at getting rid of all the orange from the front of my car and noticed that the indicator in the front headlamps is clear already and it's an orange plastic housing actually inside the headlamp itself? Is there a way of removing it? basically can you get into the standard headlamp to get rid of the orange plastic housing?
  22. IMO the F1's wern't the best in the wet (grip wise) and the wear wasn't the greatest, for the price of the tyres i'd expect a better performance. i had them for about 6 months and i do 70 miles a day, don't get me wrong i'm not saying it's a crap tyre just not to good in certain areas.... The RS2's are just amazing tyre's you can feel them digging in in dry and wet, and the wet performance is outsatnding surface water is no problem and you can still feel the awesome grip, the only negative about them is the tyre noise it seems slightly louder but it makes up for it with it's incredible all round performance...
  23. Just had The Uniroyal RS2's fitted and they put the F1's and the Proxes to shame....what a tyre
  24. Does anyone have any experience with these? http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Uniroyal/Rainsport-2.htm http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/...nsport2_en.html Should check this out to: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyres_For/Subaru/Impreza.htm
  25. Im in the same situation i need two fronts and Im a bit sort of cash at the moment I have Eagle F1's on the back and was told that Cooper ZEON 2XS were good with a very similar tread pattern and there not as expensive as F1's, so think i may also need different front to back tyres.... Not sure it matters massively as long as the are close in tread pattern....but I'm not a expert on the matter so i could be wrong...
