following on form me engine light flashing up after sundays meet last weekend IHad the engine managemnet flash up again on friday night in the HARD rain. but this time it stayed on. Once again i was accelerating from 60 upwards in 4h gear nothing harsh but not slowly . Once the light came on i slowed right off and coasted home. although car seemed to drive fine. Got the car in to be be checked yesterday , and its flaged up as a missfire on no.1 cylinder. Car ran fine, no "limp/safe" mode . and had no actual missfire at all?? the garage managed to clear fault code straight away. I drove to lakeside from maidstone and back and its runs fine as normal.... contemplating plugs coil and leads, no.1 looks a bitch to get to so would only rather do it once. and other advice or ideas ?? Oh I have switched to v power fuel as well and it still did this on a full tank of new fuel. secondly the clock on dash fades out totally somtimes, stays off for intermittent periods then just comes back on.... stupid question but does it have an independent battery? like a digital watch? as thats what it like, its just in a second or so slowly dimms out.... waits a while then next time i look its back on..

Always best to have an account like this set up, I did the same in my previous club. just an easy means of keeping eye on the funds in and out.

Next door in big M's my mate has a big plug in scanner, no ideas on its make, but he is regualrly using it on cars in there. and uses it on his mates scoobys and his skyline. so it must be doing somthing right.
-
had all code scanned this afternoon, nothing coming up and no faults pending, so was just a blip, more than likely to cold and extreme wet

Silly question .... but if i run on V power , and drive the same... will i see any change in fuel consupmtion. more or less mpg? or will it still remain the same but just drive better?
-
cheers for the advice i think i need to get it on the rollers to really see what power its running and if it has been remapped. will see how it runs over next few days as well, and keep an eager eye on it
-
Yeah im running on noramal unleaded but have done 4 tanks since i had it, never seen the light, and previous owner ran it on the same fuel for 8 months the same. I will give anything a try, just wanted to find out if it was a "serious" issue or just a warning light, if its gone out then issue has "gone"

Ok so im still new to my scoob. Driving back from woodman today past blueawater and pepper hill, sat comfortably at 50-60mph through speed restrictions just slowly cruising along, engine by this stage well warmed up. I got to higham junction where it opens up and speed restrictions are lifted, cleared windscreen and washer fluid ran out, in fourth gear from 55-85/90 engine warning light blinked about 6-7 times when accelerating then stopped. at first i thought it was warning light for no screen wash. but after third flash backd of speed. I know my mates audi will flash up when any fluis level is low... I assume the impreza doesnt do this? having cheked the manual, all it says is "emmissions fault" take it to dealer asap. Am i likely to have a fault, or is it just subaru covering there ass??
