  1. Mines is standard and still manages to go round bends with no fancy shmancy set ups :smiley-taunt014: :smiley-taunt014:

Aye its down to 90% driving skills and maybe 10% car set up. Wish we could have got up to some decent speeds on the fling to feel the benefits of geo set ups but just wasnt the case

  2. Is there a chance that the piston stuck and got very hot due to the constant friction?

All pistons move freely enough, yet all rubbers have melted!

Ive also noted that the "STI" wording (in white against black caliper) has turned a creamy/yellow which would indicate serious amount of heat build up, and thats on both front calipers. Brake fluids were changed less than 12 months ago.

Should have known not to buy parts from chocolate hatches, eh Glyn :smiley-taunt014: and to think a spec c has less weight to bring to a halt

  3. Well after the Highland fling, I decided to give the brakes a good clean up and also have a look for a strange noise coming from nsf disc.

On taking the discs, pads, calipers etc off it turns out that the rubbers for the pistons were melted onto the pads! I know it gets damn hot in there but surely the rubber would be designed to cope with these temps?

Can get a seal kit for anout £100 but seems pointless if it will happen again.

Anyone else ever come across this issue?

    Andy
