no, hence why the seller has now agreed to refund me £45 so i can replace it. I will put these funds towards a new pod, DEFFI one and do it properley, it maybe an extra £45 odd quid but i think in the long run worth it. Could not bring myself to silicone the unit in, maybe i am just too fussy but what if i want to take it out?? Have also purchased some Stepper gauges too, which look pretty smart and these are NEW! so it could be a busy weekend ahead, IF i get all the right bits lol

do you mean the ebay one needs to be glued or the decent one from Deffi? i laid this in the dash, but the centre just sat up wayt too hihg, so much so you can see the wires underneath it

i went ofr 16.5cm with a 18mm mdf spacer, some sound deadening and job done, although did have a little help with the previous owner installing some infinity 13cm components so all the x over and wiring had been done.

possibly, but have been advised this can be too aggresive change to the suspension and understeer etc, and as the wife is driving it, well, just thought maybe not sucha good idea! lol

yeah this is 24 mm and from a 2003 saloon. Think it bolts to the Outside of the links rather than the inside due to the size of the bar! compared to the standard one...... its HUGE!!!

weellllllllllllllllllllllllll, it might not be all bad, as i only paid £80 for the guages, the guy has so far offerred me back £35 as the pod is useless, however, i am sticking to my guns and want £45 towards new pod or he can simply have them back. I don't mnd either way as i have now got another set of gauges anyway lol

oh i'd be happy with a bit of trimming, but the guy was suggesting I "glue" the pod to the dashboard!!! Told him he was mad, but he rekons that's what your suppose to do, so again pointed out the nearest loony bin! Will now purchase the "proper" item from Scoobyparts, and start again!

gotta say i agree with you. The worst thing really is the state of the pod. How anyone can sell these even remotely thinking they are goint to fit really does amaze me. Have seen a rather neater looking version at scoobyparts, all be the best part of £90 but then even deffi's in a cheap surround will look pants, so might as well start right. Seem's no end of "bad" buys this week, Rear ARB- to wide, guages-crap, and possibly the TEIN springs i got may also be diff for a wagon, mind the springs were a bargain at £20! lol

Righta, after fits of uncontrolable laughter, these are back in the box and going back to where they came from. How some people can say these need slight mod to fit and think that acceptable is anyones idea. The pod had only 2 laughable clips to hold it in, and even then it never fitted by a long way. The guages were "ok" but really couldn't have ssen them staying. So i think i need some prosport guages or something like that (unless anyone is selling Deffi's cheap) and a proper mounting pod and we'll go from there lol you live and learn!

have found that the oil pressure is electrical and would need a sandwich plate (not having one of those) so will need an adaptor of some kind.

Probably not til the weekend or maybe friday if i have no work come through before then. bu only if its not freezing bloody cold as electrical work and cold never a good mix, but the i can always chuck some warm heaters towards the car................................who cares about energy crisis!!! now which adaptors will i need as i'll be fitting boost oil temp and oil pressure, i noticed on fleabay there is one for the oil temp but 2 types for the oil pressure, a T piece type and an adaptor. Might even get wife to do fully english if it is a bit chilly lol she good at doing that for large numbers as we found out before !!!

Just bought some guages, alas not those very expensive Deffi one's but never the less, new with all the connections etc. However, as many of you have probably done this before, is there anything i should look out for or purchase before attempting to install them? anyone wishing to volunteer their help will be gladly rewarded with bacon rolls, coffe and alcohol! lol
