Think your clutching at straws Kenny. Just fork out to get the cogs in motion
Paul i was all geared up for a new box but bearing in mind i am poor
If its increasing with road speed and not gear related it could be many things; any of the bearings, front or centre diff, drop gears. cant tell really. Its just you thought noise was comming from back of box, i have spare entire rear casing from older version that would fit but its not low milage.
a replacement box would be best vfm if its truthfully described.
Euan ,the noise is there any gear and iit does increase with the revs then tails off at around 60mph ...
I had it on a ramp with someone listening while i drove/flew it and it was coming from rear of the box mate ..
-
The 4th gear is a 1.0 - 1.0 ratio the noise would be terrible in 4th and more noticeable than in any other gear
Sent an Email to that chap scott
Euan ,the noise is constant in every gear mate ??
-
Thanks Ciaran , looking into another box mate i will let you know how i get on ...
Boab cheers mate ,talk soon ...
-
Ciaran thanks mate ,if i am not fixed i might still give you a shout cheers.

Thanks buddy. Might give him a shout cheers .

Hi Euan ,i called a place for a price and it was in the region of £ 1500 ,ouch
Code is TY754VN2AA ...
-
sounds like a good bit of extra work for yourself.
Have you made enquiries into getting your current box repaired? As any new parts from dealers wont be cheap. May be better buying reconditioned box to replace yours. Although having said that ive fitted freshly rebuilt box from specialist and still had to remove immediately again.
whats current gearbox code?
-
Hi guy's i was just wondering if anyone had a 5 speed box that i could borrow for my bugeye so i could remove mine and get it fixed ..
I know i know ,like most folk don't have one or 2 just lying around
Could be taken in the same context as say the fine chap who addresses you on a Glasgow street " Here pal any spare change/fags "
So if you could check your pockets or anywhere for a "Spare" gearbox and let me know if this is too long a shot Or perhaps any other avenue i could go down ..
Any help advice will be greatly recieved
Thanks ,Kenny
Reason i am asking is that it is my daily driver and i need it for work ..

driving along a road, well done

Hi,
They cut out the old metal Iincluding some of the inner arch and refrabricated with new steel.
Showed me all the metal that was cut out as well.
They are doing my RB5 next and then the impreza I recently bought.
Thanks ,another Scoobie You are keeping the flag flying
Keep the pics coming

Looking really good , how did they do the arches if you don't mind me asking ? The arches on my UK300 started to bubble so I put it in to get fixed to the tune of £240 and they are going the same way again.

Happy new year to you too ,hope it's a good one for you
