they dont know exactly where the loose wire is , but are going to have to remove the engine and head gasket and look for it before they can fix it ,
Eh? They are going to remove the engine (and head gasket?) to look for a wire. WTF
-
first one was a single seater, the guy had only just buillt it over past 18 months. Was yellow,
Could be Andrew Grover in his Quest?
-
There was a couple of bad crashes with cars totalled, but drivers all okay.
Do you know who/what cars?
-
They are the wrong pads, they should look like this
I think the Mintex part no is MDB1999
More details here (uprated pads shown but the shape/sizes are the same)

The championship entry is now closed, but you could still enter individual events Bob. Check your cars eligibility with the championship scrutineer Rob Mckinna if you are worried.
-
so you'll be running in the modified class then not a3?
Archie is in A3 on the championship entry list.

Relative to white... yes.
In general... I beg to differ! *lol*
Ok, maybe I should have said, don't look so bad when dirty.
-
What about Black?
Easier to keep looking clean too.

Dodgy fuel pump would be my guess too.

As already stated you do not need to enter the championship, you can enter individual events if you want. I posted the link for the championship website because it is a good source of information.
Including this page

this can be a cheap hobby but not in A3 or B3 where the impreza's and Evo's live.
A3 does not need to be an expensive class, you can enter a standard Impreza (as a couple of members on here have done) it is winning that is expensive.

Scottish Sprint and Hillclimb Championship Website
(the link that Phil put up just takes you to the Scottish Sporting Car Club website page)
Scottish Hillclimb and Sprint Forum
(good place to ask questions)
The DJ Firestorm of Wallace Menzies shown above is the top end of the sport, it is possible to compete in virtually any car. It is not cheap, but it does not need to be massively expensive.

Cheers JAC, but remember I have been doing Hillclimbs for over 10 years now and my Fiesta is not my road car or anywhere near as valuable as your Subaru. So if/when I crash it is not the end of the world.
Trying to learn the tracks in a car with a lot of power must be difficult, it would be easy to push too hard. I am sure your times will improve this year, not that there was anything wrong with your times last year (especially considering it was your first season).
Hopefully there will be a few more cars in your class with similar performance, it is more enjoyable when there are people you can compete and compare times with.

I am planning on doing the Hills as usual, car still needs a fair bit of work doing, fixing the damage I did last year and few new bits to fit/replace.
-
JAC, you coming out to play again this year?
Or are your plans top secret too
-
You are also making assumptions about what is fitted to my car also what classes or even where or what i intend to do next year
You not intending on doing anything this year Archie?
Time Attack perhaps

I think those drop links are for cars with steel bottom arms, the ones for your car (alloy arms) are different.

Another option

This place is always recommended for bodywork repairs, not the cheapest but they do a quality job.

Highlights of the Rally of Scotland are on BBC2 today (Sunday 6th) at 13.15.

As anyone who has competed in the championships will tell you this is not a cheap hobby. With travel costs, entry fees and accomodation costs never mind the cost of building and maintaining the car, helmet, race suit etc etc it is something that you need to properly research before diving in and pulling your car to bits.
Archie is right, it is not cheap but you can do it without spending thousands.
You don't need to do a championship, you can do individual events and you can use a standard car.
You do have to get the license, club membership and safety gear (helmet, overalls, gloves) though.

What is the cat test? I thought it was just an emissions test in the Mot.
