cheers Steve decided to take a trip up to s****horpe to have a look at a couple of sti's in the same depot to compare the models on is the type UK and the other is a EU import with the recaro,sat nav,tints and push button start with the BBS alloys for around my budget. Had a chat with my insurance company and there is no added premium for a EU import as long as i tell them it's a import or not. Paul that looks stunning mate in black with the gold BBS alloys hope your still happy with it.

Thank for you view and the info crispyduck,I wasn't sure if the warranty was genuine now i believe it is as they told me i get a letter from Subaru about terms and conditions. I'm going to leave the car as it is so the import does sound the best option at the moment.I can get the car cheaper but i wanted to buy of a Subaru specialist rather than a car supermarket. thanks for the welcome dean much appreciated

I'm new so hello to everyone on the forum I have decided to take the plunge and purchase a new sti as the current climate has had a big affect on new car sales i thought i would be able to get a deal on one. Here's my dilemma My 2 local dealers has offered me a new sti for £25000 a saving of £1600 which isn't to bad or do i go for a European import This dealer is offering an identical UK spec car imported from Portugal with a full 3 year Subaru warranty in any Subaru dealership.The only difference is it hasn't got the type UK in the rear quarter window and not fitted with the cat 1 alarm which is easily fitted.He also told me they are not registered as imports as there not the jap 2.0ltr's. the otr price Is £22500 and alarm and tracker fitted for £600. I'm tempted to go for the import as the press release was advertising the UK sti for £25000 and suddenly it's gone up to £26500 which looks like Subaru knocked the price up just because were British LOL What would you do as i just cant decide and appreciate some other views thanks
