About scoobydavis

  1. Some retard did the same thing to me last week. Only had my car 10 days but this person drove off without leaving ins/contact details meaning I need to fork our £400 (ins excess) to replace front bumper, fix/respray bonnet etc. Some people take this piss !!! That £400 could of be put towards something useful for the car, like towards new exhaust system.
  2. Hi Matty, Sounds like a good plan, I'm hoping to get some time to pay them a visit soon. I do have a lot on with work and football but got a ban coming up after this weekend for footie so will have a few Saturdays free. I think I am just going to save a few pennies and go for the full upgrade all at once instead of doing it in bits a pieces. On a negative note some t**t has reversed into the front of my car and driven off whilst I was at work. Looks like new bonnet, front bumper and number plate. I'm hoping that my local accident repair centre can fix the damage without having to replace all the parts. My excess is £400 so lets hope they can quote me cheaper than that for the repairs, I cannot believe how some ****ers just don't care about other peoples property. I wouldn't dream of driving off if I damaged someones car. Come to think of it, if anyone knows a decent body repair place in and around south west region. Swindon, Cheltenham, Glos, Oxford etc. Please let me know. Cheers Mark
  3. Hi Rich, Check out this link to see what is in the package plus other packages offered. http://www.powerstation.org.uk/subaru_tuning.asp Cheers Mark
  4. Powerstation are not too far for me as I live in Cheltenham and I have been considering their Street Legal package 1 at £1570 + VAT. Although being new to Subarus I am not sure which mods I can get away with before needing to remap ecu? I havent got the funds just yet for the full package so was considering fitting exhaust system first. Any advice on mods that could be done before remap? I have been considering exhaust, induction kit. Then a month or two down the line fuel pump and remap. What do you guys think ?
  5. Afternoon all, Was wondering which exhaust system I should buy for my standard WRX2004? Any recommendations welcome? Don't particularly want a huge tailpipe however, 3" should be adequate. Cheers Mark
  6. I must say I am not one to drive "normally" nor for that matter one to own a "ordinary car" but was just curious more than anything. I've read a few articles stating that certain ecu/remapping can improve fuel economy from standard set-up and just wondered if WRX was similar. Thanks for all your advice.
  7. Thanks for the advice guys. After doing some searching tonight I think it makes more sense to use someone like Powerstation, see link below http://www.powerstation.org.uk/subaru_tuning.asp Street Legal Package 1 doesnt seem to bad at £1570 +VAT, I guess it saves time & labour of buying and fitting parts seperatley. Any idea how this will effect fuel economy ??
  8. Evening all, After owning Renault5 Turbos, Sunny GTI'rs and Audi S3 I finally got my hands on a 2004WRX which I'm so impressed with. However I'd like more power. I've read a few posts about PPP which seems to be the choice to make if your Scooby is still under warranty however my warranty has expired. Is it easy enough to fit my own exhaust, air filter, dump valve etc? Any particular models recommended ? If I do will I need any mapping/ecu changes by just doing these mods? What sort of power gains should I expect without chip/ecu upgrade? On the other hand I am lucky enough to have Powerstation on my doorstop, is it just easier fork out the cash and let them handle all the work including chip/ecu upgrade? Finally I read somewhere that STI version has forged pistons and WRX does not? Can I expect any reliability issues or strain on my standard WRX once power is up to around 260BHP? Thanks in advance, going to join SIDC this evening. Cheers Mark
