  1. Well picked the car up yesterday and had nothing but a huge grin on my face all day Had a nice surprise when I got it jacked up earlier and gave it a proper looking over. Has a decat uppipe fitted aswell as a sports cat downpipe. Strangely though it has a standard centre section god knows why the prodrive one has been removed. Does the centre section have a cat in it? If so and I get a decat will it pass MOT with just a sports cat in the downpipe? Also another bonus the APs are 6 pots not 4 like I originally thought. One very happy new Impreza owner

  3. Got a fairly long motorway journey with it on Wednesday so will see how I like the backbox and if I can live with it. Could only hear the dv very slightly I think it may be because it has an uprated panel filter maybe?
  4. I agree on the grill its not to my taste either. A standard one will be going on in the very near future. Yeah it has the plate showing the build number of the car and all the relevant certificates etc. Log book shows it as a UK300 too. Luckily the only part of the exhaust changed is the backbox it still has the prodrive centre section.....but I do like the backbox on it so may keep it yet. I agree on the AP`s the stopping power and pedal feel is amazing, luckily the discs and pads have plenty of life in them too cos I can imagine them being expensive. Anyone know where I would purchase replacement discs and pads from? Another question is it normal to be able to hear the standard recirc dumpvalve when letting off the throttle at high boost? Could hear a slight dumping noise at high revs when changing gear. Car still has the standard airbox BTW Sorry for all the questions Chris
  5. Thanks for all the advice. Viewed the car today and put down a deposit picking her up wednesday evening Drove faultlessly plenty of power and grip. The front grill is just a halfords special bit of silver mesh which will be binned in favour of a standard one asap. Unsure what to do regarding the scoop its kinda growing on me. Exhaust is standard down pipe, prodrive centre section and custom backbox, which does sound nice though. Red samco coolant hoses under the bonnet and the blue prodrive intercooler hoses (also has the PPP fitted with certificate to prove). The brakes are AP Racing. Calipers are big red 4pots and discs 330mm IRC. Stopping power is awesome. Barely enough room to fit a cig paper between wheel and caliper Got a shock when i braked hard to test them nearly ended up through windscreen Car is number 91 of 300 and reg is L300 SUB. Anyone familiar with or know the car? Spent some time down in Essex by looks of receipts. Chris
  6. I thought the front looked different but couldnt put my finger on what was wrong. Ta for pointing it out. All things to haggle the dealer with especially as its advertised as standard. Quite like the silver grill but not too keen on the bigger scoop, if I buy it ill be after an original one so if anyones got one for sale in the right colour.....
  7. Ill have a look and see whats stamped on the exhaust. Would prefer the original prodrive one, want a car thats standard. Maybe a haggling point...
  8. Brilliant didnt expect such a detailed reply. Im travelling a fair distance to view the car so fingers crossed it will be a good one. Just re-read the advert and it says the brakes are prodrive. They any good? Heres a few pics of the car to see what you folk think Does that exhaust look straight??
  9. Hi everyone. Off to look at a 51plate UK300 tomorrow and after a bit of advice. The car is advertised as standard but thats where the problem lies....what exactly is standard on these? From the pics it looks to have big red calipers that fill the 18s are these standard?? Also what does the prodrive exhaust system consist of? Does it remove any of the cats? Is there any common Impreza faults to keep an eye out for? And finally can someone recommend me any decent insurers? Any help much appreciated Chris
