UPDATE:- Following the excellent service I got from Kev at the start, I took another BIG step, and booked it in for the 50,000 service (with cambelt). The steering wheel was also slightly off, and I asked for a 4-wheel alignment as well, (NEVER get KwikFit to touch a Subaru.... they don't have a clue !!!!!). So, off it went - dropped off Monday night for them to work on it on Tuesday. 9am a call from them, rear discs needed (I agreed - I kinda thought so before it went in) and cambelt tensioner (I had been informed this might be needed) so I agreed..... I had remembered to ask for my SIDC discount when booking in - this reduced the p/h rate from £68 to £45 (as I was told anyway) So, "in my head" I had estimated a possible bill of up to £1000....... Final bill was £811.26 Personally, having looked over the car, checked oil level, it seems to have been very well done, and overall a good job. - Thanks guys !!!!!! Now the tiny bits of bad news......... 1 - Light checks are part of the checklist, however it went in with one numberplate light out, and came back the same, so they were not very thorough with the light checks.... (I did it later myself, it was just a bulb change req'd) 2 - As I also have a company car which is a Land Rover I have been a frequent user of T&C Land Rover along the road. Every time I get my car back from them it is gleaming with ultra clean wheels etc. and even the inside sometimes gets a clean...... T&C Subaru obviously don't do this, I know that seems trivial but its really nice to get an ultra-clean car back from a service... Overall - Good job done IMHO

I recently part-ex'd my 03-GX Sport for an 04 WRX. Having read the post regarding the "Town & County" deals which were brought about by Craig, I decided to do the unusual thing of going to the "Main Dealer".... Firstly, I had problems with my keys - program issues - and a HUGE thanks to Kev for the time, effort, expertise, and for the explainations - fantastic service Secondly, I am looking to upgrade the ICE - as I am sure you all know already the standard system sound is PANTS..... I had seen the single DIN cubby-hole on eBay with 2 versions - with a lid, and without... (I wanted the one with the lid) - I again went to T&C and they had the one I wanted in-stock and it was CHEAPER than eBay..... I didn't have the heart to produce my SIDC card and request 10% off on such an "already great deal" - so again - Thanks T&C... Keep up the good work lads, and I hope many more members start/continue to use T&C....

Seeing as you seem to have timers, as a guide, if I drive "normal" for last mile before home, generally is about a 10-20 second idle before turning off OK? or are the timers advising something far away from that? I was considering getting one, but then some people say just to calm down last mile or so and all should be OK... its a MY04 WRX generally standard...

Will do exhaust when its needed, BUT - Heres a silly one ........ If I fit a "replica scoop" for looks. Should I open a hole in the bonnet? or just do something with the opening etc..... eg keep bonnet sealed - or whatever...... Any tips, or info on past mistakes made - things to do - not do.... all advice very welcome

Yea - When the exhaust needs replacing it will get full stainless... My problem with the spoiler being, last time I got something painted in Aberdeenshire, the guy made a total a**e of the job. I don't really know who to get to do the painting now.... Typical - Knockhill event on the weekend I am on-call at work... I will post a pic or 2 when I get the 15" rims off and the 17"s fitted - hopefully this weekend (if they arrive)......

Great - So I amnot alone ... LOL... Not sure about mods, (although 17" rims going on this weekend).... I have to admit a scoop always looks great - but is there any reason NOT to put one on a Sport? - Ovviously has no function, but looks the part tho

Hi, Since I joined here it looks like I am in the minority. I had a 1998 2.0 Impreza Sport, and now have a MY03 GX Sport. Am I alone in this "non-turbo" area?

I put these exact wheels on my 1998 2.0 Sport 2 yrs ago. Within a month the laquer was peeling and they corroded like hell. And I am very careful with my wheels and clean them A LOT just with warm water and nothing with chemicals or abrasives.... I had to get them blasted and powder coated after 6 months......
