Yes. There is a Festival of Transport Car show this year on our Liberation Day May 8th. Displays Military vehicles, modern, classic and vintage cars, motorcycles and its a family day out. I hope to be on the Sarnia Scoobies stand with the scoobs, the TDR250, Triumph Speed Triple and Honda Varadero in full touring kit on the bikes stand and ill be doing the Guernsey Land Rover Club stand with 2 Range Rovers and 2 Land Rover Discoverys... im gonna be busy

yeah.. money was an issue. It running but not ready for the road just yet.

my first car was a given Renault 5. It was my dads. This was wrecked after a minor collision with some steel steps going up a wall (Steve JD.... Vale Castle ring any bells???) My first own car(s) were a Mk1 Ford Fiesta 957 and a Citroen Visa. I raced the Fiesta down the beach banger racing, rolled it and destroyed it. The Visa met a grizzly end..... was made shorter by another car and then torched.

i would say about 3 years.... i started here when i started the Scooby rebuild.... Engine is finished and in / running, just got bodywork now.

LOL.... If by handling like a Porsche you mean slinging you off ass first into a wall in the first wet corner then yes.... they drove like a Porsche!! lmao

very busy with work, by day im a self employed decorator and by night and weekends i service, repair and fix cars bikes and 4x4's. This weekend its a CCMR30 with an oil leak (muffled laugh) and a Land Rover Discovery with a busted auto gearbox... Last weekend it was a Derbi 50cc motard having new chain and sprokets, 1995 Triumph Speed Triple for service and polish the "Not for road use" stamp off the exhaust.

funny enough.... mine looked like the blue one. It had the standard alloys on and it wasnt til i got rid of it that i found out how much it was worth and it was a limited production run.... gutted. It had no rust anywhere on the bodywork and chassis needed a good polish and it was gleaming on the brightwork. A friend had a 130 Rapide that was black, it also had a 50 on the pillar. wasnt til he crashed it that he found out it too was a limited production and an Anniversary model.

Ok i think im gonna stir up ahornets nest with my choices but here goes..... 1... Maserati MC12. 2... Ford Escort MK1 Mexico (red with white flash) 3... TVR Sagaris 4... Audi Quattro S1 (Full Fat rally version with big fat turbo that spits flash and stuff) 5... Bowler Wildcat (Ex Dakar Issue, tried and tested) 6... BMW M3 in silver 7... Skoda (dont laugh) Estelle 105LUX 8... M20b (an original one as well.... not a copy like i do already own) 9... Alfa Romeo S8 10.. Radical or a Spire.

If your the same as me (confidence wise i mean) you should be fine.. Having never done a Scooby engine i was a bit cautious as to how far i wanted to go. But its just like a normal engine when you get down to it... The biggest problem you'll encounter is the seals and gaskets bag... sorting that out is a headache.. Had it not been for the lack of time and money i didnt have the whole thing would have been done sooner... That is the 2 biggest factors when working on anything yourself. Id love to do another one SP..........

Yeah tiny there is loads of bits but i like to do something once and thats it.. Ill shout you if i need help with anything. Im looking back on old photos i took when i stripped the engine down, they are helpful. Just let everyone know how far ive gone with this heres a list of new parts ive got to fit.... New gaskets all through New seals all round New waterpump (the cause of the rebuild in the first place) New crank bearings New Con rod bearings New engine bolts (The long inside ones) New engine joint bolts New front sproket (the timing marked one) New pistons gudgeons and rings New turbo decat downpipe New stainless Manifold New clutch (yet to buy) secondhand rocker covers ( i cracked one taking engine out) S/H Engine mounts New Half moon blocks for the rocker covers (i lost 2) New rocker gaskets New plugs new balls please....... all i can say is thank god for tech manuals..... and digital cameras...

I have to say i usually get things done quicker but im glad to say i have actually started my rebuild. I have all the parts i need for now and will get the last remaining parts as i get near to fitting them. Oil filter is the only engine part, clutch is the only non engine part. Ive done X flow's and Pintos but never a flat 4. Im oiling everything well when fitting and taking it one step at a time. I only got as far as the crank sitting in the block today cos i left the manual at home on laptop Sorting out the seals washers and o rings was fun, Tiny dropped in and helped solve the problem of which valve stem seal is exhaust and which is inlet.... im sure they (FHI) think i have magifying eyes!!! Im taking photos as i go so the log is gonna be fully documented.. id like to get some photos uploaded here as well. Any hints anyone can give me at this early stage is and will be very gratefully recieved.. Mike

Ozzy ran his Skyline a few times and beat Christian R from Jersey both times... I just wanna get it rebuilt and run in before playing....
