AHHAH! Just checked battery terminals, the earth was loose, a wiggle and a tighten up may cure my problem.

Would this also affect the starting? If the battery was low I guess it may, given I do about 100 miles a day I can only guess that it is the battery not providing sufficient current to the spark not that the battery is not charging from the alternator.

Thanks for the response, strange how the alarm (or something) beeps when I have the problem. It's an O3 STI UK Type for what that info's worth. I was wondering whether an ECU reset may help, by isolating the battery for a couple of hours, as I'm getting no alerts on the dash.

Hey guys, Recently been having an issue with the STI starting when cold. Fine when warm. It will turn over ok, but as I turn the key the alarm or something will chirp or beep, the car will take a few seconds to start and only if I apply some accelerator pedal. Once it's started all seems fine, and I never see any lights on the dash. Any ideas? T
