I run the works van on v-power diesel (dont cost me a penny) 140ltrs per week, usually get around 20-25 quid fuel voucher which naturally goes on v-power for the car

Yeh 850+ miles is more than enough, all you need now is oil changed for a good quality fully syn and of to Mr Forrest's. Enjoy!!
-
Gutted for you mate!!
Like some others on here i had only ever heard good things about "Ron" and nearly bought a stage 2 block of him 3 years ago.....
Hope you get sorted soon.

Bet it's been dirty every time you've seen it
No dirty,just well used

I wouldn't run it in too easy. I'd take it further up the rev range but obv not on full boost or the like. Just slowly wind it up rather than full beans, plenty gear changes early on rather than motorway driving. Some folk even disconnect the turbo to save being a bit keen to push on etc..
I sure it's along the lines of running in oil for the first 200 miles, ditch it for something else then nearer 700 miles put the good stuff in?
Im sure everyone will have their own way to do it Chris so perhaps a phone to an engine builder or feedback from someone who's just went through the same process would be the best idea for peace of mind and a good strong engine in the long run.
Thats exactly how i ran mine in Frank, this time last year 700miles on the rebuilt engine and i was off to Port Seton for the full beans map!!!

Hi guys,
Ive got a very intermitent problem with my RA,its a ver4 sti ra.Every now and again the car will cut out and is a bitch to start, the Commander shows AF-1 which is the air flow sensor. When the problem first happened i disconnected and reconnected the maf plug and the car started first time.
Like i say this is an intermitent problem,so ive been monitering the Air flow via the Commander and all seems well,on idle 0.80 volts with the voltage rising when driving ie 2.90 volts at around 3k rpm
There's no eratic idle or hesitation whilst driving, and the car cuts out if you disconect the maf plug when the engine is running.
The maf is the orange label type so a tad on the expensive side(unless i buy 2nd hand) just to rule that out.
Do you think my Maf is knackered?

When i did the 2.5 conversion i sent the heads away to be skimmed, valves re-shimmed and new stem seals also the combustion chamber needs honed out a little.
I fitted 550cc injectors, fuel lab regulator and td05 20g all from Andy F. After it was all fitted up i ran it in with mineral oil and a base map from Andy aswell. Then after the first 250 miles i dropped the oil and put Fully synthetic in till 1000 miles was covered then it was full map 360bhp 380lbs torque.
Quick road car
