About slimboyfat

  1. I've taken my Classic MY99 to Arden Bridge and I was happy with the service and knowledge the guys seemed to have. I have only been once for a break pad issue and they were great.
  2. Im based just south of Birmingham. I had my Scoobysport exhaust done at API so I know of them its about a 45min drive from me.
  3. Hey guys, i'm looking for a reputable re-mapper for my classic MY99 Uk 2000 Turbo. As in the title im based in the midlands and i'm looking for 250-260bhp. Anyone recommend a good place or places to speak to? Many Thanks
  4. Hey Guys Right....well problems been sorted and I have been advised that a clip was on one side of the brakes when they were replaced but not the other hence the rattle. As has been said on here was also stated by them too.....aftermarket brakes will be different to Subaru own brand and may have a very small amount of movement. Just want to thank Arden Bridge Subaru near Henley-In-Arden, Warks for their professional service in sorting it out for me. Also thanks to you guys who replyed and helped me advise them the area of the problem so they could sort it out quickly for me Many Thanks!
  5. great advice.....exactly a theory i was contemplating myself (something missing or left out when they were fitted) as this would explain a mechanic may not spot it if its something tiny like a shim. Can you buy these shims seperatly or are they in a set with the brake pads??? If there is anything else that is a possibility then please add. Cheers again.
  6. Thanks Dibs I just wondered if there were any private shops that supplied them but if I have to go to Scooby themselves then so be it.
  7. *A Bit More Info I Should Have Put in* It went in about a month ago and had what only can be describes as 'copper grease' put on around the top of the caliper on the driver side. This wore off quite hastely with inavoidably washing the car and wheels as you do over a period of about 3 weeks. The noise came back all be it slowly over a few days or so and now im back to square one. The only advise the place can give me is that is was something to do with the Brake Pad sticking (they can't remember exactly from the notes the person who sorted it wrote down) or something like that but why would a grease be used for that I ask myself? I dont want a quick fix on my pride and joy but it's a case of if a garage can't find the problem when i tell them its a clicking and rattle of the front drivers brake I need to *hopefully* find someone who's had the same problem or know someone who has. Then I can go to a mechanic and give them an idea of what it could be. If your still under the same conclusion then thats great and i'll check it out. Many Thanks Matt
  8. Hello Guys, I seem to have a dodgy rattle on the drivers side brakes The pads seem to rattle around in the caliper a bit and when you brake then accelerate alternately, you can hear a click as the pads shift from one side to another as if they do not fit the caliper correctly. The noise is also there if you go over a bump etc and turn a sharp corner at next to no speed. I've had this checked out by a local garage and they say they can find nothing wrong and the brakes still work a good as you would expect from standard items. The disks and pads were new on the car from when I brought it and as far as i can tell they are standard, with the 4 pot callipers (of a 99 v reg uk turbo model) with the subaru written on them in white. Any advise? Or will new pads and discs cure this as i was looking at changing them as per my previous post. Many Thanks
  9. Thanks for that Stormy and to all you guys who have helped. Just leaves me to find out where to get Prodrive P7 wheels from? Anybody in the know?
  10. Yeah just for the road.......What is the main difference between the Green and Red pads?
  11. Hi Guys, These are the Prodrive alloys i was after - http://www.prodrive.co.uk/products_level2....;p=12&i=211 Thats bad news about the discs and pads. These are the ones I found if you can advise on if they are the same - http://www.247ppd.com/product.asp?prodID=1008849 (If links are a no no then apologies and please remove)
  12. Hello Guys, I have recently purchased my first Impreza (classic shape 99 in Red) and after spending a few weeks of getting used to it im looking at a couple of smaller mods to begin with. I like the look of the EBC Grooved Discs Front and Rear....part numbers USR 972 and 730 and also the Red Stuff Pads to complement. Is this a wise choice? Priority has to be to change the alloys from the old ones I have at the moment to the 17' Prodrive P7 versions in Anthracite (if thats how you spell it??). Can anybody, in the know out there, recommend where to get these alloys as im willing to go national to find them. I am based in the midlands if it helps but for the life of me I can't find these alloys anywhere. Cheers
