  1. Been told that mine is fooked, so seeking a single Ultraleggera (standard silver) for my classic, got a tyre waiting for it... Cheers guys Michael
  2. Was it a change for the better ? What would you have kept in hindsight? Standard dv = no hesitation? etc etc Cheers mate. Michael
  3. Well I had thought the dv was acting funny buggers before, when its hot (1hr/2hrs running) instead of just a tsssh i get more of a tss tss tsssh very quick little tssh then one proper tssh, if that makes sense lol. Bet your all making that noise to yourselves now
  4. Well when I first got the car (having come from non turbo) It seemed to be really fast, now i've only had it about a month but already it either seems slower or I'm used to it? Having said that, i've had a play with an M reg sti and another uk turbo, ok the sti was faster, but not THAT much faster, as for the uk turbo, it seemed pretty much the same. Now obviously if it is running rich then I won't see any difference when driving hard? I have felt some hesitation when driving for an hour or 2 (haven't put the car under any strain when cold for obvious reasons so dont know if there is any probs when cold) The car smells like it may be running rich, best thing I can really do is take it to andy myself and have someone who knows his stuff tell me Cheers guys Michael
  5. Just a curiousity question here really.... Got a MY00 Classic Uk Turbo, stainless backbox, still got cat etc everything standard (As far as I know) except for a bailey dump valve. Now the question part, ever since I got the car, i've been using V-Power, after about a week or so I noticed a nice "Pop" from the exhaust when accelerating hard from 2nd and then lifting off.... Another week passes and it still pops once in a blue moon, then a mate is driving behind me and sees a small flame along with said "Pop"..... Cool methinks!! Aaaanyways, the car (still on nothing but v-power) will pop and produce a small flame pretty much everytime I accelerate and lift off the loud pedal... Is this normal/bad/cool/whatever? Cheers me dears Michael
  6. Sounds good does this! Didn't realise there were so many sidc guys in Paisley, i work on Causeyside st!!! i've even eaten out of your place and wondered whose the scoob was lol Gonna speak to my mate (also on here and in paisley) hope there is space!
  7. Sounds like my problem as well! Now to figure out the power loss .......
  8. Ah!! Ma wee big eared pal from Paisley
  9. Well I tend to let the car idle for a bit after driving it anyways, but since I was washing it, I thought i'd leave it on and keep the inside warm (cold outside!!) But i've since been told it's not a great idea to leave turbos idling for too long?? News to me PS Cheers for the welcome
  10. Hi there, got myself a nice MY00 turbo wednesday morning, been LOVING every second of it!! Only thing is, I found last night that after sitting idling for about 20mins, I tried to drive away quickly and found that I had very little power, and the dump valve made a constant sound..... This cleared almost instantly, although it still left me a little worried.... And again today I was cleaning the car and had it sitting idling the whole time (1 1/2hrs maybe) and again it had the power loss, although this time it lasted longer and when it did clear, I had no "Whoosh" from the dump valve for a few moments afterwards..... This was then followed by a smell of oil from the engine bay, which upon investigation seemed to be caused by some smoke coming from around the turbo.... The car still seemed to pull fine, but needless to say, I'm concerned. The car is booked into a Subaru dealer tomorrow for a service/timing belt etc etc anyways, but i'm basically looking for a little bit of peice of mind tonight!! Any ideas anyone? Many thanks, Michael
