  1. There are lots of cars with a break in oil which in the manual would indicate that no oil change until 7500 miles or so...also no synethic until 10000 plus miles...As mineral oil allows the car to break in properly and the Synethic simply too slippery for proper break in... That was why I raised the question whether in the Subaru menu (there is any indication for the break in oil and no synethic warning)........
  2. Hi guys, writing from Hong Kong here.. Just puchased one of the few remained S204 in HK and looking for Oil advices.. The car is brand new with 10km on the odometer....but been sitting in town here at storage for at least 6 months, so I figured I will request for an oil change before taking delivery of the car. In Hong Kong here, everyone uses Synethic and it is hard to get Mineral oil or others...Coming from a S2000 (bought it brand new at the time), there was break in oil in there which Honda recommended no oil change until about 10000km and no Synethic use for at least 15000km...I searched hard back then for Mineral oil and folllowed the instructions (by the way, forgot to say that was a North American Honda recommendation)..Dealer here in HK are useless and all they would use here is Synethic...Nevertheless I followed the North America Honda advice... Now with the S204, Subaru HK uses Redline Synethic as their dealer oil for all changes... However is there break in oil in the motor for the European Subarus? Should I follow the no Synethic until at least 10000 plus km? Looking for advices and comments...thanks a lot guys!!!
