  1. Sorry I haven't been on the forum for quite a while, I just wanted to let you all know about the very sad news that Simon Roe (jolly green monster) passed away today after a long struggle with cancer, honestly I am completely shocked and gutted about this loss to the Subaru world, he had a wife and young family. Simon.
  2. Evening all, I was driving my 03 sti type uk today and noticed on my display next to the milage a new digit appeared it is a B I think it could be an 8 but I am pretty sure it is a B, any ideas? Thanks in advance Simon.
  3. I have a 1998 WRX wagon with quite a few mods, I am getting it ready to sell it has just been serviced and MOT'd, the wires were cut for the cat by the last owner, not quite sure why, they are still on the cat but not on the car, so the garage had to be patient and wait for the emisions to be right, it passed, it now has the decat back on, when i got it back i got the cat warning light up, that has now gone, it has now got the engine managment light up, the car is running a bit flat,it will get up to speed no problem as long as you do it slowly if you try to push it the car just cuts out like it has a rev limiter, when cold it will not tick over but once warmed up it will but the revs go between 700-300, i dont think it has got anything to do with it but the airbag warning has come on and the Turbo boost light has gone out on the display, they have changed the plugs in the service, i know it had special plugs in to start with and they only replaced them with standard ones, sorry guys I am not very technical. I want the car to be right for the next owner as it is a very fine example and goes really well. thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give me, the garage are stumped, they have said that they are trying a computer test but the car does not talk to them. Simon.
  4. Morning, I have just purchased at the end of December a mint 2003 WRX Sti Uk, it really is a fantastic car, its had loads done to it and looks and drives superbly, low milage as well, I will post some pictures really soon, I have already changed the cam belt and waterpump while they were in there obviously all the runners and tensioners as well, I thought that would be the end of the spending for a while but..... I now have an off side rear knocking shock, from reading the forums I see this seems to be a a popular problem. I have shopped around quite a bit and all I can find are the standard shocks from Subaru (no after market) which are going to cost around £850.00, any body out there got any ideas on getting them any cheaper, i should add that the car is pushing 450bhp so i want to do it right, just cant afford another large wedge just at the moment. Thanks in advance guys for any help you might be able to give me. Simon.
  5. Thanks Ian for your help, I am not sure about any of that, the car was built by a very clever man called barry down in Cornwal, he built it all himself, running at about 300bhp, I will get my garage to look at your answers, much appreciate your superiour knowledge, your a star. Regards Simon.

  8. Hi Ian, Thanks for the advice, sorry to be a bit thick but what is a DV, you think it may be this rather than a leak as I noticed today that when I got the fade it made the dump valve PSSSSSS again, on another note I have 2 scoobie's for sale where would be the best place to sell them. Cheers mate. Simon.
  9. I have a 97 STi Wagon, it has a few mods, drives beautifully, a really balanced car, just have a couple of problems, first one it has a baileys dump valve, when I put the car under a little pressure through the gears it sems to get a boost fade when I change gear, almost like there is a leaking pipe that lets the pressur out, it picks up again very quickly, bit of a mistry. no 2 I have condensation in the reversing light lense, when I put my hand in to have a feel around inside the boot, there is a small puddle of water where the lense meets the car body, any idea where the water is coming from and what I can do to stop it. Thanks in advance for your help. Simon.
  10. I love my scooby so much I bought another one! I have 2 on the drive, find myself in the evenings just staring out of the window looking at them, both silver, one classic wrx 300bhp and the other a classic wagon sti 350 bhp, only problem i have is which one to drive every day! so what if petrol is the most expensive in the world, I am 50 years old and really enjoying my beautiful Scooby's LONG LIVE SUBARU...................... LONG LIVE SIDC................. Love it, love it, love it.
  11. Ok, Gremlin, but this dosen't help much, I don't want to waste money at the garage paying them to tell me after spending 4 hours at £35 an hour they could not find the problem !! I suppose I could put a padlock on the door like you see on the back of vans!!!!!! oh before you reply to that I was only joking guys..... Simon.
  12. Hi, I am lucky enough to be running 2 imprezas, 1 95 wrx import and 1 98 sti wagon import, 2 questions the wrx is playing games with me, I lock the car (with key not fob) come back later and the drivers door is unlocked, no other doors just the drivers ??? the sti has a warning light come up on the dash that says Airbag, its not on all the time, its a bit intermitent ?? any help would be gratefully recieved. Thanks Simon

My Mate part xd his 05 scooby for an 09 all singing all dancing EVO, guess what........ he hates it, I drive past his house twice a day it never moves from behind the locked gates on his drive, not a drivers car like my scooby he says, but the worst thing for him is the fact that he really misses the waving and the family that we have ..... Long live Subaru.....
  21. I know this is probably a really stupid thing to say but what is to stop you leaving the number plate in front of the F/M and drilling lots of holes in it, I am sure that it could be done really neatly it might even look quite cool, as long as you don't change lhe look or the lettering and numbers it should be ok with the boys in blue!!!
