  1. Just a question and a notice! I am thinking of starting a london scooby website (just a small one on which i will link the SIDC for national membership purposes and to get benefits etc) Anyone think this is a good idea? would anyone visit my humble site? and most importantly would it be against the SIDC if i did such a thing? if so i wont even bother because i am a loyal SIDC member!!!!
  2. LOL!! To be honest most people admit that you just cant beat the scooby sound!! i have encountered people trying to imitate the burble in their CIVICS etc!!! but thats like buying tesco value chocolate and putting a galaxy wrapper on it!!! then they have the cheek to pull up next to my scooby and rev the living c**p out of their engines! GROW UP PEOPLE!!!
  3. Yeh true but being only 24 i could only get insured on a UK turbo!!! My cousin however is 26 and managed the EVO I do want to get a blob eye or hawkeye later on but i am very attached to my scooby as im sure a lot of guys on here are!!
  4. Nice group interested in joining the SIDL?? (Subaru Impreza Drivers London) only got 2 members at the moment!!! need some company lol
  5. Hi Mate, Just added you to the group!! Thanks for joining
  6. My cousin has an EVO FQ300 and compared to my UK turbo it is much faster. However i only spent £5000 and he spent around £13000. And i know that just by spending about £2000 i can push the scoob to 300bhp no worries So im just waiting for the day my secret project is complete and then we'll see who rules the roost MWAHAHAHAHA Oh and as it goes in my experience EVO drivers are quite a lot more sensible than chavwagoneers!!!
  7. Hi Guys, A quick one for the admin department. I was checking my facebook today and noticed that there is no SIDC group! I just started a Subaru Impreza Drivers London group so if anyones interested they can join. I was tempted to start up a SIDC group but i felt that the people who started the website should have the honours!! Another question is do many members have a facebook account?? is this the reason it hasnt been thought of?? Feedback appreciated
  8. True that ignorance is bliss but im sure others will agree with me that you can ignore it once or twice but when it happens almost everytime you go for a drive it does tend to.........whats the phrase...........get on ones tits!! And im also sure that no one with the love for scoobies on this forum is a wanger and put their car in any sort of jeopardy and disgrace the SIDC!!!
  9. LOL thats a good one!! ill try that when i encounter an essex boy next time!!!
  10. Hey!! ive got a turbo 2000 Mica Blue!!! but no bimbo wife or sunglasses though LOL I know what you mean there are some Subaru drivers that feel the need to be complete twats aswell!
  11. I know what you mean! i live in south east london and im 24 so i get a load of chavs and young guys in A3s, BMWs, civics or golfs!! i try not to give them the satisfaction and ignore em but if they really get on my nerves then i have no choice but to embarass em!!! lol but i do not condone that sort of behaviour at all!!! it was because of a wreckless BMW driver who assumed i was racing him....cut me up and caused my to swerve into a barrier in the wet!! my message is LEAVE US ALONE YOU CANT BEAT US AN YOUR OBVIOUSLY TOO DUMB TO JOIN US!!!
  12. I just want to put this out to the rest of you guys! You may have had a thread discussing this before but this is a particular issue i face on a regular basis when in my scooby. Im sitting at the lights minding my own business (with the Nur Spec making itself known ) when either a BMW or a golf will pull up next to me and start edging forwards or revving with no provocation from me!!! for gods sake i dont want to race at every lights i ever come across in my life.......but the other drivers are sooooo annoying when they obviously have inferior cars ! anyone else have similar problems and out of curiosity what cars tend to really get on your nerves???
  13. I would definately if you are gonna go for a full system get the NUR SPEC R!!! it is amazing for sound and performance!! i have also heard the MOT's will not pass "loud" cars but my nur spec came with a silencing bung which is very easy bolted back on come MOT time
  14. There is no need for a de-cat! With a stock exhaust you can hardly hear anything at all in the scooby! you at least need a back-box or as i have done get a full system to get the sound and the power gains to match!
  15. Good to hear it!! I was on ebay just browsing came across this Ninja Bacbox, item looks really neat! ITEM NUMBER: 110242612219 Picture below
  16. Ive been checking on ebay for an ECU. have managed to find two that are a reasonable price and in working order. Just trying to find out if they are suitable for UK octance fuel. 1. standard impreza WRX (1995) ECU - has U8 written on the ECU box (Dont know what that means) 2. WRX V5 ECU - has V5 written on the ECU box picture below Can anyone help me who knows about these ECUs and would they work on my UK turbo with a TD05 turbo??
  17. LOL Well to be honest with you 90% of the reason i bought a scooby was because you just cant get that wonderful noise anywhere else!!!! If you arent worried about what the neighbours, block or even the town might say then the bigger the louder the better!!!! Best of luck mate (Id still go for a full system! youll get that burble in idle like i do)
  18. Thanks for all your help FMJ, Ive managed to find a TD04 turbo for £70 delivered or i can go for a WRX (U8) ECU for roughly the same price??? I know it would probably be safer to buy the TD04.......but seeing as ive invested in the new turbo do you think i should just go for the ECU? I dont know if youve read some of the other threads on hwre but will i have fuel issues concerning octance levels etc??? Sorry to be a pain Thanks again
  19. Ive got a full Blitz Nur Spec R exhaust system and it is bloody loud. Put it this way i dare not start the car too early in the morning or too late at night in case i get smacked with an ASBO!!!! The thing is a lot of scooby back boxes make your car louder and you get that beautiful burble sound you just cant get anywhere else!!! What i would suggest is shop around and get a decent full system, you'll get the sound and performance to boot!! P.S: If you still want just a back box try the Ninja brand a few members on here have it.
  20. Hi guys thanks to FMJ for all the help in my previosu thread regarding my buggered turbo etc... Basically ive bought a TD05 turbo for my UK impreza (which originally had a TD04). The problem now is because i was so hasty to get my car back on the road and being a complete scooby novice i didnt realise that putting this turbo with a stock ECU would cause major problems!!!!! Thanks to all of FMJ's advice he suggested that i replace the stock ECU with an import WRX ECU which have been programmed to run the TD05. Is there anyone else out there who agrees of has any other advice for me??? will replacing the ECU cause other problems? I have read some threads where import cars are programmed to run higher RON fuel. will this cause an issue??? Thanks to everyone whos helped me so far! Ive been having a lot of issues with the car because of a dodgy mechanic ruining my engIne!! JUST WANT MY SCOOBY BACK ON THE ROAD
  21. Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately i just paid £240 for a ported TD05!!! would it help my situation if i drove the car under 3000rpm (off boost) until i can get the remap??? i really dont mind keeping a light foot if it means keeping my scooby healthy Im taking the guy who did the previous work to a small claims court coz he buggerd everything and i paid him £1000 to fix the engine! so hopefully when that gets sorted i will spend that cash on the remap etc
  22. From what i can gather the turbo was leaking oil and not booosting properly either. Referring to my reply above can anyone advise me on what to do if i have a TD05 on my UK turbo while i save up to get a remap done. On that note does anyone also know how much it would cost to map the turbo in? would i need a complete ECU upgrade? Sorry to sound like a complete novice but this is my first scooby and i really dont want to do anything wrong, hence asking trusted people on the SIDC about everything!!! lol Thanks
  23. Thanks for your advice! I managed to get my hands on a TD05 turbo ported and inlet and wastegate for £240 which ive already given to my mechanic!! now that you guys are sayin to stick with a TD04 im getting really worried!! i do have plans on buying a walbro fuel pump, RC injectors and a HKS induction kit. I already have a blitz nur spec exhaust and a HKS dump valve but at the moment cant afford to get a remap or the other bits mentioned. any advice on what i should do in the meantime??? ive already spend about £2000 getting it fixed twice!!!! and i only work part time! (student life) Thanks again guys
  24. Hi Guys, Long story short i had my engine rebuilt by a couple of muppets whos f***ed everything up!! Now ive taken it to a Subaru specialist whos found out that they completely messed up the turbo which is leaking all over the place! obviously needs replacing! I had 2 questions: 1. My car is a GC8 UK Turbo (2000 W Reg); is it ok for me to replace the TD04 turbo with a TD05 version instead without upgrading any of the inetrnals, intercooler etc??? 2. Does anyone know where i can get a turbo air feed pipe??? Thanks guys!! wish me luck
  25. Thanks for your advice guys! When you say 350bhp is the cut off point does that mean no matter what else i do the engine will not produce more than that unless i change it completely?? Thanks again for everyones help
