The McRae family have decided on the following arrangements.
Service of Celebration
Arrangements have now been put in place regarding the Service of Celebration for the lives of Colin and Johnny.
Location: High Street, Lanark.
Date: Sunday 30th September 2007.
Time: 4 pm.
The Service will be relayed onto big screens strategically situated on the High Street in Lanark, which will be closed to traffic for the duration. Please do not try to access St. Nicholas Church as this has been reserved for family, friends and associates only. Please also note that there will be a normal Sunday Service in the Church from 11am until Noon and we ask that you do not gather in this vicinity until after this time.
Please note that Strathclyde Police have asked us to inform all those attending that the sole designated car parking facility will be based at the Lanark Agricultural Centre, Hyndford Road, Lanark, ML11 9AX. Refreshments and toilet facilities will be available at the Agricultural Centre. There will be diversions and road closures in operation and therefore the car parks can only be accessed by the following routes.
From the NORTH.
M74 southbound to Junction 11 / B7078 southbound past Happendon Services to turn left at the round-about joining the A70 northbound / continue on this road until Hyndford Bridge and turn left towards Lanark on the A73 and follow the signs to the Car Parks and park as directed by the Stewards.
From the SOUTH.
M74 northbound to Junction 13 / Abington / A702 northbound / A73 northbound to Hyndford Bridge and turn right towards Lanark on the A73 and follow the signs to the Car Parks and park as directed by the Stewards.
There will be a courtesy shuttle bus service laid on to transport people from the Agricultural Centre to the vicinity of the High Street.
In view of the numbers expected to attend, The Police have emphasised that people leave must leave PLENTY of time to ensure that that they can arrive and access the High Street before the commencement of the Service
