Mostly dry for once which was a bonus ( managed to get the slicks on) No problems with the car (white/checkered Evo rs) Great day, alot of nice cars (loved the integrale) and some cracking pics. Looking forward to future events. Cheers, Dave

Yeah the TE 37's are very nice and I just did a search and I believe they are around 0.4lb's lighter than my wheels However how do the CP035's and the TE 37's compare in weight to the standard wheel (wrx or sti), is there a big difference? Cheers..

Hi, Was having a look for info on my wheels as they were on my car when it was imported (8 x 17 Racing Hart CP035's) and it got me to thinking about unsprung weight. I believe the wheels are 14lb's each, how does this compare to other 8" x 17" alloys that other members have on their cars? Who's got the lightest/heaviest 17"'s on their impreza? Performance seems very strong on my (standard) Bug jdm sti, would the wheels make a noticeable difference or is this just in my head because I know the wheels are lighter??! Cheers, Dave

No its coming from the suspension for sure. Cheers anyway

Hi people, My 2002 JDM Sti is currently sitting on HKS coilovers, the trouble is I seem to be getting the same knock from the rear at low speeds as what you would get on standard shocks. I also notice that occasionally when creeping (up to traffic lights etc) that the rear of the car feels like it drops slightly as if the spring is settling. Has anyone had experience of HKS coilovers on a bugeye sti? I thought having coilovers would eliminate the knocking rear shock problem. Apologies for my complete lack of technical knowledge! I would ideally like the car to be checked over and set up properly and would welcome suggestions of where the best place to take the car would be......I am based in Aberdeen. Cheers, Dave

Hi Guys, Had the car a couple of weeks and still loving it. Done a search but have got a bit confused![:$] As stated the car is an 02 JDM Sti, I will be getting the car remapped probably next month and want to de cat the car at the same time of the map. Question is how many cats does my car have and where are they? If someone could also recommend a good supplier for the pipes needed to replace the cats it would be much appreciated[Y] The car is very quiet at the moment, does anyone know what the standard Sti exhaust sounds like with the cat/s removed? Thanks in advance, Dave

Thanks again guys, yeah the wheels are awesome, guess I landed lucky getting them with the car as they cost mega £££'s. Going to have a play about with the HKS suspension tomorrow and see how the car feels. I look forward to meeting some of you soon, Dave -

Cheers for the comment, Got the bigger spoiler in the garage if I want to ever put it on, but I think at the moment I will leave the low level on. Seem really pleased with the car, very quick in gear and the brakes are [:|] however I am quite surprised with how quiet it is, think I will be looking for an exhaust when it goes in to be mapped[] Guess any car would seem quiet compared to my old Prelude[:$] Need to de tango'd though, does anyone know where the best place to get clear ones? Cheers [Y] -

Yeah I have been told it will be ok, might just use NF race to be safe. Glad to hear yours has been running ok without a remap. -

Cheers Mate, away to wash the car but the sky looks[st] Might just be the interior that gets done!! -
Hi people,Dropping in to introduce myself and my new car, took a long time coming but it is here...eventually! Took the step and bought my first Subaru.......a 2002 JDM WRX STI in WR blue. Loving the car and it came with a couple of quality upgrades which was nice. Coming from a string of various fwd hot hatches, a bmw hack and finally a 5th Gen Prelude Motegi the Scoob is my first 4wd turbo'd car. I was looking at various other machines but I guess an STI was just an itch I had to scratch I only do limited mileage so the trips to North Anderson Drive's finest V Power supplier shouldnt be too often Engine wise the car is pretty standard with the only thing changed under the bonnet being a Greddy BOV. HOWEVER the car has HKS fully adjustable suspension and 17" Racing Hart CP035's (unmarked) wrapped in sticky Yokohama's. Did a bit of research on the wheels and they seem to be very very sought after due to them being significantly lighter than oem rims, iirc each wheel in 8 x 17 only weighs 13.6lbs, do any of you Scoob experts know how this weight compares to the oem wheel? The ride/handling is certainly very tight with the HKS setup but it is still reasonably complient but I guess half the fun will be finding a set up which will suit Aberdeens shall we say varied quality of surface! The car has covered 46k miles so was coming up for a belt change, part of the deal before I took the car was for a 50k service to be done and for new pads to be fitted all round, this was done but the pads that have been put on are EBC Red stuff, seem to work very well but squeal at the rear when using them gently, hopefully will go when bedded....has anyone has exp of these pads on a bug eye? The car is spotless inside and out with only a couple of stone chips needing touched up to be perfect. Prior to getting the car I did my homework (months of forum browsing!) and realised that these car must be fed correctly and/or remapped to our weaker uk fuel. I have been in touch with Andy F and Wallace Performance to get their thoughts on fuel/remap issues and they have recommended that the car is fed V power and 1/2 bottle of NF Race per tank, I will probably look at getting it remapped/uprated fuel pump next month. Up til then it will be V Power and octane booster all the way! I will be spending the next couple of days detailing the car with Meguiars 3 step polish to get it looking and will try and get some pic's/video's up so you can have a squint Hope I havent bored you to death, I look forward to keeping you up to date on the progress of the car, Cheers, Dave. Update after a fair bit of sweat got the car looking ok, still need to put the 3rd step of polish on but it looks ok. Sorry about the crap pics, they were taken on my phone...
