  1. "Best place to buy" ???

    "Is there anything better" ?

Always better to do homework before buying I feel.

Is there something better than the aeroblades, or just as good as but not as expensive - now that's simple surely.

Had wipers before that I found streaky, noisy and didn't last long. Really would like to try avoid that.

Think they were about £30 last time.

Bosch wasn't to be considered, bought few years back and unimpressed.

  2. Filled the car up to the top from half - reckon saved about a whole £1.

Eh, when did the price reach 123.9 !!! (think it shows how often I put fuel in). Nearly drove into the car in front when I double took that ! 118.9 was such a bargain...not ! Normal 95Ron price 115.9, reckon more people would have given it a go if the price at least matched that.

Poor wee woman on the forecourt freezing her bits off was telling me about her son-in-law who had a Subaru Evolution - bless.

  3. What idiot said you could'nt paint the surround!? Is it not just plastic!?

Car, as always is looking great Col. I would'nt re-sticker. After spending the time having her painted up and the surround done, its looking quite aggressive all black...

Don't get me started on the last time it was worked on !!

    Baldy is best :icon_butt:

Do hope you aren't refering to my napper ! :(

I'm generally not into decals, but I have to say that I preferred your bumper with them - thought they looked great in that colour - helped set your car apart from the crowd too.

And the bumper somehow looks narrower now to my eye... think that the decals helped define its width before?

Good to see another opinion, think along the same lines when they were on.

Given they are off just now swaying more towards leaving it for a couple of weeks and seeing if it grows on me or not.

  4. Despite saying I would spend no more money on the car for a long time I took advantage of an opportunity to have the whole front of the car resprayed because the numbers stone chips were slightly spoiling the overall finish, and touching up / sanding down / polishing takes ages and not always leave the best finish.

So, the decals on the fog light covers and in the middle of the splitter had to come off - and I can't find the spare ones !!!

However, before going and ordering up new ones what do folks thing about leaving it as is and not putting any back on ?

    As it was before :

and as is now (and I know it is dirty, since got it back seems to rain when I have any time, and it still needs a polish and wax of course!!):

Although I was once told this couldn't be done I managed to get the grill surround coloured to match the bodywork (standard grey colour before)

  5. Seen this car twice now - think might be Alisdair but never met you or the car before ?

First time was couple of weeks ago coming out of the Esso garage in Stonehouse.

Then saw you Tuesday 9th at about 4:00/4:30pm going on to the M74 South just beyond the Canderside Toll ?

Never in my own car (that's just a general comment as well  ) so you've not really got another Subaru to wave back at - if I give a flash then it may well be me if you're around this area a lot ??

  6. Be good if you have the name/number for the Dalmarnock guy gumball.

Last ones I had were really good and have lasted really well, but they need to come off. I have a feeling I threw the spares out by accident, can't find them where they should have been.

  7. My airbag warning light came on, switched engine off and back on again and staying on.

Before I get it looked at by a garage any basic suggestions I could check for myself...and I mean basic !

Also would prefer it fixed rather than just disconnecting something.

  8. Personally I like the look of the A6 s-line over the 5series, but would go avant for some reason ?? Almost fit the scoob in the boot of it it looks so huge !!

Friend just test drove a 5series and an XF, ordered the XF as although the 520d was smoother and more comfortable it was boring to look at.

    Nice budget dilema though B)

  9. There's so much info, and what's better than the next etc, not too sure there's a right answer as it really ends up as personal opinion and personal preference.

Just bought a new TV from JL, a Samsung 32" LCD for the wee ones playroom, but wanted to get something decent and up to date.

Don't have sky as don't watch enough TV to justify, not to mention then paying £10 extra for HD, so got one with freeview HD as that should grow (and is free!! ). Nearly bought a Sony, but the look of the TV wasn't up to the Samsung, and the sales guy said although a very good TV Sony sound is a tiny bit less compared to other well known names.

For £800 you should get a very good LCD, maybe even LED.

3D will be more popular in future but as expected everything to do with it is expensive so early on in release.

I just heard unappealing things about plasma, life of etc, that put me off, but I am sure many who have one find them fine.

Set a little aside for the cables such as your aerial to TV to DVD etc. No point having a great TV but bog standard cabling and not taking advantage of the great picture/sound.

Plenty good deals around, and likely more coming along soon. Search the model price when you find it.

  10. Colin, you can see every little spec of dust and every little smear on the outside of a tinted window - are you sure you want to go there? :D

 had the wifes car tinted and it's more the little fine scratches that bother me. Never really noted the dust marks so much, think I'll let it pass inspection each time ! Least of the cars worries at the mo  (don't ask!)

  11. Two other methods I'd be trying are heating it up (hairdryer should suffice) or a rediculously good product called Autosmart tardis (which I use mainly as a tar remover but may be good on this also).

Going down the rediculous route wet sand and machine polish it :) .

  12. Reply to paragraph 1 - nice one, excellent figures made, enjoy.

Reply to paragraph 2 - sounds like well saved in the situation, nightmare scenario, but on the bright side you'll be half a stone lighter after it :) . Could've been a lot worse !!

Reply to paragraph 3 - nice one that it's okay now and you can get back to the enjoy bit.

  13. When working with Ag equipment I hurt myself constantly. Next he'll be going on the sick wih taxpayers money to roll about in! :needpics:

:D Give him a sick day off at least for the op, there may be tears and that doesn't look good in his profession !
