  1. Went to Tesco for some Veg a little while ago and guess who I saw! My new mate in the Astra! It is an ASTRA COUPE TURBO. Went over to chat to him...what a bloody nice young bloke. He even noticed me the other night and thought I was going to have a little race with him...Even though I tried, I pretended I didn't lol He has spent 15k in '08 and '09 on the engine. Can't remember what power he said, but it is really fast. Best thing is, it looks like nothing. Tiny "Turbo" badge, small exhaust...Lovely red leather interior though!! lol. He said he had to leave.. Was late to see him Mum and said, try to keep up this time... lol Good feeling meeting such nice people!
  2. It was a Calibre I think! Looks identical. Must've been just a newer version. Looked them up, some of them shift nicely! Sorry Dad .. I am aware of the dangers etc, it was 2/3am and an ultra straight, clear road lol
  3. Lol No V8 sound I'm afraid. Was pretty quiet really... I had my window open and still couldn't hear them over mine.
  4. It wasn't an Astra VXR. My brother-in law has one of those on a 08 plate (Unless they do an older version). It was more of a sleeker looking car. Rather similar to that Monaro though...
  5. Could have been a Monaro. Looked them up in Google, looked similar, but not exactly the same. They're lovely cars though...Whow! My wife thinks it was a Y reg. I'm was ultra shocked. I've not been hammered like that before. Shame I couldn't keep with them to read the badge or something.
  6. Hi. I'm just really wondering what this car would've been? I was driving at about 60mph and had some lights sit behind, leaving about 5 car length gap. I knew they were going to overtake, but they waited until a very straight road (about 4miles long!). I saw them go to overtake, so as you do, I put my foot down in 3rd and tried to have a little go against them. They left me for dust. I pushed the car very hard, and fast, but he just kept pulling away, I wouldn't like to say what speed he got upto, but it was fast as hell for a Vauxall. Looked a very sporty, yet a big Vauxall. 3 doors. It was black, quite big wheels and uber fast. My car knowledge is limited, but I'd like to read about these cars. Many thanks.
  7. Hi all, I'm Matt, I'm 20 years old from East Anglia. Currently still drive my first car, a Fiat Bravo with a few tweaks, but purchased an Impreza WRX in June. Not going to have it on the road until next year due to me being too poor to afford the insurance costs, so it's being stored in my Gran's garage in Essex. I've had a few goes in it, handles lovely and is rather rapid. Not took it past the 100mph mark yet due to inappropriate roads and no insurance. My fellow Scooby friend, who recommended this site, says it will be limited to 112mph as it's an import. 112 doesn't sound dreadful, but is it possible to remove the limiter, if so how can I do it or how much will it cost me? (Got to keep up with my brothers RS Turbo!!) [] Also a few more things I'd love to know... Are there certain insurance companies that like to insure Imprezas for relatively cheap? Are there any common faults? Mine doesn't seem to have rust, but do they rust badly, if so where abouts? All the best, Matt PS: Uhhhhh the sound!!!
