  1. HI mate, I have exactly the same problem, i have the prodrive brakes fitted, its the hardness of the pad, for some reason some cars grind and some dont. i think its all in the driving style. i spoke with prodrive and they said.... if its grinding,...its working and i am driving correctly, if not... then I aint!! and the brakes will not last. I also have the heat rings. So, i guess we need to keep them grinding. The prodrive alcon brakes and blue pads were used in the 99/00 WRC car and in some cases they only got circa 100miles to a set of pads. So I gues 9.5k is not bad considering. All this off course assuming you have the prodrive set up.
  2. I have a 04 WRX PPP with prodrive brake upgrade. When I got it done the brakes were really sounding like they were metal to metal. I told the garage and the said this was normal. I have done 3000 miles on these brakes, the noise is getting worse and there are heat rings on the discs. they are now saying that the breaks may be faulty but not covered under warranty. My question is this.... are these brakes meant to sound like metal to metal and if so can i put a softer pad in to reduce the disc wear. I also have the old brake gear calipers etc if they are any use to anyone. many thanks Joe Livingston, west lothian
