  1. You do realise that about 65% (might be more) of the price of a litre of fuel goes to the government in tax. So 10 tanks of fuel @ £60 a tank and your not far off £400. If you don't want to hand over £400 to the government you better start walking everywhere , still costs you tax for shoes and socks though.
  2. After the winter we had in Aberdeen and the fact that the civic type r I had was useless, 4x4 was a definate factor in choosing to go back to a impreza. I've had a 4x4 cossie and a golf R32 in the past and both were great in the snow as well so 4x4 for me every time.
  3. I agree completly, once I get pics taken I will get a proper add up. I hate reading adverts with text spelling, puts me off a car straight away if the owner cant be bothered to take the time to write properly.
  4. Not really sure if the road tax would have a real difference, if you can aford to buy a car like this, insure it and put petrol in it then the road tax probably isnt the first thing on someones mind. TBH, I've not really put much effort into selling yet, will get some pics taken of the car and get it on autotrader although nights are getting darker and winter will be here in ~4 months so might change my mind. If it's like last year then 4 x 4 will come in handy, civic type r and snow dont really go hence the scooby. Always had 4wd in the past, Cossie, Golf R32 and also had a RB5 WR sport which made me go back to an Impreza after a couple of run arounds and a civic r. I'm tempted to go back to a classic once I sell the hawkeye, really like the RB5 but it was nice, wr sport pack and Alcon brakes.
  5. Just wondering what the market is like for selling hawkeye STI's at the moment. Basically bought my car earlier in the year but have come to the realisation that I may need to sell as child #3 is on the way and I'm not really getting to enjoy the ar as much as I would like just now so who knows when I'll get any time once the new arrival is here. It took me ages to track down the right car and I have enjoyed every minute I've had it but the sensible head is on and I'm seriously thinking of selling it and using the money to get a bigger family mobile. I've had it on pistonheads for a few days now and no enquiries, guess not having pics up yet isnt helping. Anyway, what sort of money are they changing hands for privately. Don't really want to trade it in as it has a few nice mods (GGR re-map, turinis etc) which I dont think most garages appreciate. Mabyee I should wait until we have a good dumping of snow and try to sell it then .
  6. No, GGR i.e Graham Goode racing but I'm assuming that part of a re-map cost includeds a licence fee that shouldnt be required for further re-maps or am I wrong?
  7. Sorry if I'm being a bit thick but how much for a re-map for a Hawkeye STI thats had a GGR Ecutek re-map previously.
  8. As the others, I use interparcel.com for everything, UK and International. They use UPS in the UK which I would rate as the best for price and service.
  9. Allan Scott, thats the one. Kinghorn was very good when Kinghorn used to do the painting, not so sure now though. Any others to be recommended.
  10. One of my freinds is looking at getting his Elise re-sprayed and looking for a good bodyshop in the Aberdeen area. There was one guy all the RS owners club people used to use but I can't remember who it was. Any recommendations.
  11. Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get my wheels refurbed in Aberdeen, no kerbing to be repaired, just the paint peeling in places.
