  5. When do the pops and bangs occur and how frequent are they on the overrun?
  6. When i spoke to Andy the price of the ECUtek remap on a car without an existing license was £500 + vat (£587.50 inc vat) There was no discount for multiple cars. Its then £200 to get him to travel + £80 per night if an overnight stay is required. Rob
  7. Thanks for the suggestion but we have the numbers needed to get Andy up to us and all of us would rather complete the remap on roads we know and use the fuel commonly available to us up here - you lot south get the good stuff!!! + we'd all rather not travel. If it were just me on my tod interested then i'd try and arrange something as per your suggestion as that would be cheaper than going to see Andy in Port Seton. Although your suggestion could work to some degree. - Andy has to drive along the A9 north of Inverness so maybe someone from say, Inverness, Alness, Invergordon, Tain, Dornoch, Golspie, Brora, etc etc could participate as they are all bang on the main road anyway without Andy needing to take a detour of his route here/home.
  8. Give me some names mate Cheers Rob
  9. Thought i'd post on here that myself and a few other lads are going to "hopefully" get Andy up here to no mans land for a remap. Is there anyone on here that lives in the Caithness area that would like their car remapped.... Let me know Cheers Rob
  10. Out of interest, the previous owner of my 03 STi had ECUTEK remaped done at WP. im thinking about changing exhaust in the near future and would like a another remap to work with new exhaust will i still be able to use the licence from the previous owner? or do i have to purchase a new licence? From what i have read so far the licence only seems appliable to the ECU the remap is done on not you personally
  11. AFAIK??? wots that mean? sorry
  12. Whats he driving? Does having the car remapped remove the PPP map? I'd like to keep that map and switch to a higher power one as an when i feel the need to
  13. I am thinking of getting an ecutek remap shortly for my 03 STI PPP. Who has had a remap done by this company and whats it like.?
  14. My first post here, so hello to everyone. I sold my classic impreza in september last year i had owned it for 2 years and i must say it was a fantastic car. I had spent a few £££ in modifying it and expect the BHP was around 270 at the most. I then bought a diesel so i could save some money and get a newer car. (classic was N reg) I went to newcastle saturday just past and came home with an black 03 plate STI PPP. I have to say i am completley amazed with the car, it handles far better than my classic ever did and that 6 speed box is an absolute gem. I had a 2wd cossie before the classic with a harvey gibbs built engine 352bhp, it would reach just under 130mph on a certian quiet road (private) from a standing start. The Classic scoob would make it to 110mph. Yesterday i tried it in the new STI, it achieved just over 120mph and spun the wheels off the line, now that was a surprise and through me, so i think i could achieve over the 125mph. I'm not going to bother trying it again as i know what it can do now. I have never been in a classic STI so my comparison (newage STI with PPP vs my old Classic N reg Uk car) is obviously a bit unfair. If i ever have the chance to drive a classic STI i'm sure it will be delightful. I think people class the classic shape impeza as the last of that shape which actually looks good, the first cars realeased look pretty crap and really they are the true classics as they are the first, but we dont buy them for looks do we!!
