About SCom

  1. I had some nasty snow and mud ones on my car when i bought it (fresh imort) and it didn't corner at all in the wet. Bought four new Verdsteins at about £40 a corener and have not looked back since Cheers
  2. Interior is mint, boy is clean but has a few minor dings. No history with it though!
  3. Hey folks, not a regular poster but a regular lurker Anyhow may be moving abroad for a few years and may have to sell my impreza. Its a Green 95 WRX Wagon SA, 99,000 km's, alarm, immob,tracker.. New tyres all round (bout 2k miles on them). Very clean, its an auto uhh and completely standard, bar the wheels. I have had it a little over 6 months and its not given me a single problem. Its my daily driver and lurks around the M4 Corridor between Llanelli and Swansea! No idea what i would get for it.. Can't seem to upload pics to the site? Just washed it and taken some heh!
  4. Im with tesco for my impreza, 25, 5 years ncb and about £700 fully comp. Standard car though. Could be worth giving Firebond a call, My land rover is with them and costs me £190 fully comp all mods declared (a fair few).
  5. Im guessing it should boost in reverse.. The engine is still running the same whjenn you reverse as when you go forward. It should not jump out of gear.. But as mentioned.. why would you be doing that unless your practising your J Turns?
  6. Let us know your age as that usually helps a little.. Im with Tesco and pay around £700 fully comp for a 95 import.. Im 25 5 years ncb
  7. Had one fitted to my motor yesterday (insurance requirement) and noticed on the application form there is an option to have the unit beep at me when aproaching speed cameras.. Costs £8 a month ontop of the £10 for subscription. Anyone seen this working, is it any good? Should i bother? Cheers
  8. Ill dig out the applie dmodel number and post it.. If it is indeed 220bhp, what makes it less powerful than other imprezas? different ecu?
  9. Newbie Wagon owner here I have washed this car more in the 4 days Iv'e owned it than my last 3 previous motors combined! Is that a bad thing?
  10. Thats where i got the 220 figure from, being an 95 wrx auto wagon!
  11. Ok, now lets see.. I have a 95 JDM WRX Wagon. I have hunted about on the net and found that it could have anywhere between 220-280bhp. When I bought it the garage owner that imported it mentioned that it was 260bhp, but of course had no paper work to back this up. I know the imports are supposed to have a fair bit more power than the UK ones but is there anyway to find out other than sticking her on a rolling road? Need a figure to quote when people ask what bhp it is, oh and I run it on 99ron. Also what other differnces to the JDM's have over the UK spec? I Have climate control but not sure what else may be different!
  12. Cheers for the replies .. I found out some more infor after hunting about on the net a bit so ilwill share it. The power button (as Tyreman says) holds the car in gear till red and shifts down easier. The manual/Auto button will hold it in whichever gear you select (1,2,3) and will not shift out of that gear, no matter what it thinks it should be doing. If you put a fuse in the DIff Lock fuse holder under the bonnet it will switch the car to Front Wheel Drive only, which will improve fuel economy and all that twoddle, but thats not the point of an impreza is it You will now find me lurking on this forum and my land rover forum, ttfn!
  13. Hey folks.. I picked up my first Impreza on Friday and have been driving around with a Huge grin on my face all weekend, but back to work today. Anyhow I have a few questions.. Its an Auto, and has a 'Power' and 'Manu/Auto' Button. Now I guess the power button will hold it in gear longer and be more eager to change down? But confirmation would be nice, the other button bemuses me completely. Secondly, Whilst Poking around under the bonnet I found a little connector with (Diff Lock) written on it, I opened it up and there is space for a standard blade fuse, but nothing in there. Should there be a fuse ? I only ask becaus the tyres scrabble about a bit when reversing on full lock off my driveway, feels like the transmission is winding up ? Other than that all seems fine witht he car, its a 1995 WRX Wagon and scares the pants off me, which is good. I have owned some quick motors in my time (V12 Jag, Ex-police omega) but nothing as rapid as this. Cheers folks, all advice appriciated!
