Sooooo excited! A week after buying the car, I'm eventually managing to go and pick it up today. An '05 WRX wagon PPP. [

I was going to say phone Gary Moulson at Keith Michaels. I'm guessing Buntz was trying his own number (0208 288 0275)? Remember that he might be getting calls via the 0845 number as well so may well be busy.
Anyway, I'm 33 9yrs NCB, wife is 30 with about 9yrs NCB. I've got an'05 WRX PPP and Gary quoted me £497....one off payment. Places like Tesco were quoting £396 online......until I mentioned modifications then it jumped to about £600. Had another that went from about £400 to £900 with modifications.

Hello and welcome Richie. You are not mad but once you`ve been on this forum for a few months you will be! Regards to cleaning of your car, Polished Bliss are highly recommend. If you look on their site there are some really helpful guides. I too have Crystal Grey and I use mostly Swissol products which I find really good. This would be my cleaning regime -
1. Wash car with Swissol Car Bath (using 2 buckets (1 for rinsing) and a 100% cotton Wash Cloth)
2. Clay the whole car using Meguiars Clay Bar and Quick Detailing Spray
3. Polish the car a panel at a time using Swissol cleaning Fluid
4. Wax the whole car using Swissol Samurai Wax
Now I`m no pro. but this works for me. You would only need to clay and polish once a year (say when all the salt/grit is away) then wash every 2 weeks and wax every 4-6 weeks. Different products will give you different finishes (shiny, wet look etc). I`m happy with the results and protection that Swissol gives.

Colin, that's great thanks. Gives me a starter for 10. I sound like I've never washed a car before!!! I have but was just happy that it looked clean.....not clean and good!! Swissol should be a good place to start as well. Guess I'll soon find out what I prefer or don't. Shiny/wet.....think clean and shiny would do for me.
The Polished Bliss site was saying to 'clean' the car before washing it? Would a rinse do?
When you're waxing, what kind of cloth etc is best....like you say the cotton cloth for washing.
Lastly......you'll be glad to hear......what about the cleaning then protecting of your wheels?

WRX with PPP so give it 12 months it will be WRX with VF35, Decat up and down pipe, STI injectors, STI7 8 or indeed 10 Intercooler, Cold Air Induction, fuel pump and regulator and a visit to Port Seton

Newbie here...2nd post because I'd said hello on the general discussion forum. Thought I'd best do the same on my 'home' forum.
I'm delighted to be here as last weekend I bought my first Subaru. Got an '05 WRX wagon in Crystal Grey. Lucky for me, the previous owner had put the PPP on as well! [
] which I'm more than happy with.Also got a good insurance deal through Gary at Keith Michaels....thanks to some research on this site before I actually joined.
So, am I going mad? I ask this because I'm only picking the car up on Monday but I'm going mad waiting!!!! I've only driven it for a few miles on the test drive and now can't wait to get it. Each day seems to be dragging and I'm keeping myself awake at nights thinking about it!!! Is this normal or is a case of 'Welcome to Subaru ownership'? [
]I'm already planning ahead with regards to keeping it nice and shiny but I've never been one for polishing etc with previous cars. I'm determined to start now!! I've had a quick look about on the forum and it seems that to keep the car clean, I should be looking at Polished Bliss? I'm a bit bewildered at all the products though. Will it be fine if I buy their cheapest cleaning/washing/waxing etc product and go from there? Clay bars???!!!! Will it be possible to make the car look worse!!?

Just wanted to say hi with my first post on the forum.
Had a great weekend....bought my first Scooby and joined SIDC!! [
]The car is an '05 WRX 5d and the previous owner had the PPP put on it so I'm chuffed to find it.
Also just cancelled my policy with the AA.....they wanted to ADD £365 with an excess of £600. A quick phonecall to Gary at Keith Michaels (a bit of research via the forum! [
]) and I've got my policy for a few quid shy of £500 with an excess of £350. Had a couple of good quotes online but as soon as 'modifications' were mentioned, that was it!So, if I may be so bold as to go straight into the questions!!!!!
What are your top tips with regards to the best products for keeping the car and wheels in top condition.

At last!!!!!! Got the car yesterday but only managed 25 miles to home back from Ayr as I was on nights last night. Had more of a drive today and I really can't stop smiling. At some points I almost laugh out loud to myself!!! [

Bizarrely enough, I think that this car is going to make me more of a responsible driver. I'm not saying I wasn't before but I think it's something to do with knowing the power is there etc. Besides, I don't want to do mad overtakes and have people thinking, 'there's a k**b in a Subaru'. I'm sure some folk probably think we're all boy racers etc.
Will try and 1) take pics (although it is pretty standard) and 2) attempt to load them onto the site! Do I need to register on some photo suite site etc?
