No not my tabby...... my catalunya on the way home from work on Friday i decided to pop in past my girlfriends. As i was slowing down to pull in to the drive i changed down a gear, engine died phoned the garage and they came straight out !! he had a quick look over the car made sure it wasn't the timing belt. Couldn't see anything so he tried turning the engine over, as he was doing it there was a grinding noise coming from the engine bay. I don't know a lot bout engines but from what iv heard i thought it might be the big end bearing, i finally got the car in to the garage tonight and there looking first thing tomorrow, i spoke to the mechanic earlier tonight and he reckons its the crankshaft ! i know its going to cost £££s if it is !! Can anyone help me out, i need to know what options iv got. do i just get it fixed ?? iv heard there is a local engineering company thats fitted a lot of reconditioned engines to scoobys or do i search breakers for a second hand engine ??? Not got a bike yet but am having lessons, should be past my test in the next couple months hopefully ! Got offered an S reg, CBR 600 for £2000, its done 31k miles and pretty tidy looking, is that a good enough sounding price ? am not 2 sure on prices of bikes yet ! And would a 600 be a wise choice for my first bike, or would that be a bit big?? Ryan

hope the guys are ok, seen the pics in the evening express last night !! I would agree that an age restriction would be good but its hard to say if it would make a difference, I was 21 when i first got my scooby and i know a few guys younger than me with them now. I also know some guys that are 23/24 year old with little 1.2s and 1.4s that are total idiots on the road and given a high powered car for a week would almost certainly smash it !! id say its weather the person driving the car is mature enough to have it, but there is no way of knowing who is and who isn't !!

It was a good day out, might have to take my car a blast round the track once iv sorted out the handling and get some more horses into it. Had a good run over the cabrach on the way home as well, might have to take a run over there after one of the meets !!

nice motors mate, was the sti the one that was in march motors ? the boy in my street just sold his 1 like that, had different wheels and window tints but i was just wondering if it was his. don't think he's on here, you've prob seen his new white 07 that is kickin about elgin the now.
