Thanks for the reply again. Have got the heatshield off and all the bolts and pipes holding the turbo in place apart from the bottom bolt thats attached to the downpipe. Do I need to get underneath the car to do this? Do i need to remove the downpipe also? Thanks

Hey I am getting my WRX remapped by the legend Andy Forrest next Tuesday. Therefore I need to get my #### in gear and fit a few parts. Basically how long roughly will it take two guys top fit the following parts : ( Have decent knowledge of working on cars - not great though) Turbo Intercooler Injectors Uppipe Fuel Pump Also any advice on fitting the above parts? What ones will be the hardest ones etc ? Thanks Chris

I have refitted the orignal BOV already, as soon as the new bov stopped dumping, i changed over. The car seems fine today, boosting correctly etc. I reset the ecu last night( well disconnected batter) Seems to have went back to normal-- strange. I figured out it was the heatshield that was rattling. Thanks for the advice guys

Thanks for the replies mate. The vta bov was only one for several hours so would bore wash happen in this short period of time? Will go check all hoses around dump valve etc again. Checked all yesterday but will take intercooler off to check hoses properly. Any other advice ?

Anyone got any advice ? Rattling could be heatshield ? Could the increased lag mean actuator is stuck open?

Yeah checked the vaccum hose. Seems to be fine, well at the BOV end anyway

Ok think I have a bigger problem than first expected. Just went out to look at vaccum hose to see if any spilts etc but now there is an awful noise coming from the turbo area of the engine when revving. A rattling sort of noise. Any ideas? Thanks Chris

Hi Fitted a Turbosmart vee port BOV yesterday afternoon everything was working fine, boosting fine, idling (sp) fine and making the pshhh noise. However last night when out for a wee drive the BOV decided not to work at all, piston was not moving and therefore no noise was created. I took the vee port off and opened it up and checked everyone was ok. Everything seemed normal, spring and piston was lubed enough. Put it back together but still nothing. Decided to put old BOV back on and now I am suffering from extreme lag. No boost till like 5500 revs. Very sluggish, however idle is fine, its not stuttering just has alot of lag. Anyone have a clue why car is not boosting till late on and why the BOV has decided not to work? Thanks Chris

Sorry for bringing an old thread back up but ... I have just fitted the same BOV the turbosmart vee port. Fitted it yesterday lunchtime. Everything was fine until was out in the car for a wee drive last night. Now it doesnt make a noise at all. The piston is not moving therefore no noise is created. Took the BOV apart and checked everything but seems to be fine. Anybody got any suggestions ? Cheers Chris
