  3. Simples, but it ruined my weekend! lol At least it is sorted now (touch wood) and I can carry on with my big power plan
  4. Problem solved, took it to Martin @ Alan Jeffrey this morning; the restrictor pill was too small and partially blocked. New one fitted, and the car boosts correctly and does not surge anymore.
  5. I've got it booked in with Alan Jeffrey's tomorrow now, hopefully they can find our what's wrong with it...
  6. Pink ones please can I PayPal them and you post them? Thanks.
  7. I didn't realise stickers and key rings were for sale doh!
  8. I will, the annoying thing is, I may well have fitted the bleed valve correctly, but if the boost gauge has gone funny at the same time as me kinking the pipe to the solenoid to lower boost (what are the chances?!) then I've been messing about all day for nothing
  9. No, that's my view on it too lol. Damn cars! Thanks for the help.
  10. I'm wondering now if its the gauge?! Swapped the pipes over on the solenoid and got 2psi, swapped them back and the car is certainly boosting over the stated 4psi, it pins you back in your seat! Very strange. I've removed the gauge now, and checked all the connections and pipes etc.
  11. Yeah and everything is as it was, but still not right. The restrictor pill is in place too.
  12. Nothing, but it wasn't running right with 20psi. Only thing I did was clamp the pipe going from turbo to the standard boost control solenoid which gave me 5psi but no surging etc... But i can't get the bleed valve to work in its place no matter where I put it.
  13. Lol, I was only joking... For now. Measuring boost on a boost gauge, plumbed into the blow off valve. Before the changes, would peak at 22psi and hold 20 which is too high. I tried to fit the bleed valve to test it at say 15psi to see if the fault occurred. With the car running base boost there's no fault, but that's only 4-5psi and not any good long term.
  14. I've put it all back the way it was... and it STILL wont boost over 5psi. I give up, its for sale.
  15. It should still boost without the restrictor pill shouldn't it?! I have put it back in, and it makes no difference... Removed all pipes, standard solenoid plugged in to the electronic part, but the hoses are both blanked off. Tried it set up like this... And like this... Only this is the bleed valve I am using: Neither way works.
  16. Hi people, finally found the cause of my surging fault in higher gears, was linked to boost. I kinked the pipe running to the boost solenoid, and it ran base boost (5psi) without any problems. As a test measure I have tried to install a manual boost controller/bleed valve - please remember this is just to test the car/fault out. The problem I have is that no matter how I fit the valve, it won't boost more than 5psi. What am I doing wrong? I've blanked off the pipe going to the inlet/air filter pipe and then put the bleed valve in between the turbo and the actuator, but it makes no difference. I've tried various adjustments with the valve, and also turned out around in case it was fitted wrong, but no change.... Please help!
  17. Is anyone going who would sell me their new age standard airbox? If so please pm me...
  18. Looking forward to this! Remember to wrap up warm boys & girls!
  19. Thanks, was the nice scoob parked near me? lol Yes that was me, first parking space on the left hand side, I work at Vospers so it's a good spot to park in
  20. Someone found me and left a card... Hello
  21. Put the whole kit on, you can always remove the ones you think are too much afterwards
  22. Should be in the small print of your policy... A lot of small bits are not required to be declared, but best to make sure. However, if its an optional extra, or was available at time of purchase from the dealership then you don't have to declare it a lot of the time. It's a big scam to be honest, and a lot of people buy used cars and genuinely don't know their car has had bits changed/modified... but to those into cars, you can tell lol.
  23. Thank you, that's really appreciated! I shall do some more "investigating" this weekend and let you know.
  24. Possibly, if you didn't mind? Do you have a new age Impreza?
