  2. Dave are you straight lining, i fancy doing it but im a drag virgin and dont wanna hurt me car lol

gonna see on the day but yeah I fancy some action

dont be a big girl and get it on the strip

    Hi everyone

Hopefully get up on both days, any ideas on entry fee for 1/4 mile sprint, just put full through system on, sounds great and seems much better through the gears (less lag) but would like a good sprint just to see what it can do, any chance of borrowing your helmet Dave?

will be good to see ya mate, full timetable and prices are on the Duke Trackdays website, dont see it being a problem about the lid

  3. First update in here for a while, a new year and new mods :rotfl:

not really done anything to the car since last year other than fit some mud flaps, sorry no pics :rotfl:

anyway, Christmas came early today and I now have this little lot waiting to go on

    check out these bad boys

This little lot combined and I will be cornering as if I was on rails

I could fit all the suspension parts myself but would not be able to set them up so I have decided to have Ian @ Pace fit it all and set it up as the car needs to have its rear diff bushes and T bar bushes done anyway (replacing these with poly ones from Powerflex), unfortunately he cant fit the car in until 2 weeks today due to the rally next weekend, I am gutted but I would rather have it fitted and set up properly rather than rushed.

Any one got a fast forward button? cant wait, shame the track day is this weekend but the Scoob will be sorted for the next one

  4. should be a good day, will be good to see everyone

the car has not been on the rollers Mark so not exactly sure, not sure I want to know incase I am disappointed with the results as she goes really well, will put her on the rollers one day

  5. If my parents come up to mind the kids, I'll take the Scoob down the 1/4 mile.

If not then just bring some chain and a couple of padlocks and chain the kids to the railings so they cant go anywhere :)

  6. Yo dude, hope you and Rach are well

I will be there both days, running the Scoob in the straight line event on the saturday then on the Sunday I will be giving the Young Driver of the Year kids hot laps in my car around the short course

    see you Saturday :)

  7. I think the ones Darren is offering you are the same gold rims I was trying to get for you from Sean, you could offer these to the fella you have been talking to about the swap

You could always buy my black wheels off me mate, I know of a set of 18's possibly being sold soon I would be interested in putting on my car

  8. but surely you are paying the postage costs not them

have been asking around for ya mate, and will keep asking

spoke to Sean yesterday (finally) and he said his sister got herself a scoob and pinched the gold wheels he had for that

  9. Alrighty Nick

I have EBC Red stuff pads front and rear and I do not have a single complaint. Ok so they can be a little squeely at times but the braking from them is vastly improved from OE pads

Yes they probably take a wee while longer to get up to temp but by the time your engine has warmed properly your brakes should be good to go

Once they have warmed properly they are just great, I am running standard discs with these pads and the discs give up before the pads do when I am out giving it the beans.

  10. Alright Andi dude

Yeah Richard left and went to Spain

Dont think Jim has got time to sleep LOL, if he is not with the wee one he is stripping his Legacy engine for the rebuild

  11. I have spent a wee bit (most of) this morning having a look on Pistonheads and AutoTrader at prices to guage whats out there.

You have £10k-£11k to spend you say, going buy whats available online at the moment that would get you

    1. a nice clean classic with mods or a P1. but classics would be too old for you judging by what you said previously.

    2. Upwards of £6k or £7k would get you a MY01-MY02 Bugeye STi, leaving you a wee splash of money left over for some personalisation and perhaps to take the wife shopping to justify your purchase of the Scoob.

The last option would be to try talking the wife into letting you spend a wee bit more than your said budget and you could start looking at MY03 STi's or maybe if you are lucky an MY04 STi

Remember this is only my judgement after spending a while looking at what is for sale on Pistonheads

  12. Hi Barry, welcome to the forum

The choices really are endless, before shopping around try to decide what model varient you want, WRX, STi, Classic or Newage, import or UK Spec and so on.

There is a lad on here called Dan (ScoobyWhore) who just bought an MY05 (I think) UK spec STi through the car shop, he says the service was top and could not pick a fault with anything they did. Dont think they would do an import though. I suspect they would take your Type R in part ex without any probs, source the Scoob for you, bring it onto the island, put it through a Manx test if neccessary and then register it here saving you a whole load of time and hastle

Welcome once again mate, anythiung else you know where to find us :(
