Well its amazing what can happen in a few weeks, it looks like I have been thrown a lifeline and the car does not have to go after all
To say I am pleased I can keep it is an understatement, so it looks like I will be around for a while longer.
The Legacy is the wifes car, it is a 2004 2.0S saloon in silver. Really lovely car, nice to drive if lacking a little in power, and super comfy.

Hi Folks
I know I have not been on here much of late, I have had quite a few things going on preventing me from dedicating as much time to the region and club as a whole as I had originally hoped when I took on the role of RO for the Isle of Man.
It is with the deepest regret I have decided to stand down as RO for the Isle of Man, and as much as it breaks my heart, I will shortly be looking to sell my pride and joy. If you or anyone you know may be interested then give me a shout either via PM or phone if you have my number.
I will still occasionally pop back in from time to time as I have made some fantastic friends through the SIDC and I am still a Subaru owner with having the Legacy but I hope to be back in an Impreza sometime in the future.
Take care and see you all soon
Dave

Hi Mark. The ecu resets itself every 20 cycles if memory serves correct

Went out on the bike yesterday and forgot to zip my pocket, it decided to fall out at Cronk Ny Mona and by the time I realised and went back for it it had clearly been run over a few times
Managed to find the sim card but after putting it in a temporary phone I find that all my numbers were stored on the phone and not the sim
I managed to find the battery and got the phone to power up but the screen is totalled and I could not get it to sync with the pc via the cable to get my numbers off it
Can those of you who I had numbers for please PM me or text me so I can save your number to the sim?
Thanks

looking good
bet you cant wait to get out

Hey mate no problem
I knew you had got one, I saw it down at Ians when my car was in there the other week and he was telling me what you were having done.
Ian does do a top job, he has done quite a bit of work on my car now and I cannot fault his work or his rates
Good luck with it mate, now you wont know which car to bring to meets

OK so following on from a fairly successful testing the water trip in May, Tim @ Envy Valeting and I are planning him a second trip for the end of September.
The format and prices are pretty much the same as last time with one exception. On this occasion Tim will be asking for a deposit to secure your booking, it is generally the norm to provide a deposit for advance booking for these services and for those serious about having their car done then it should not prove to be an issue. I am sure you can understand the reason deposits are being taken.
The deposits will be as follows
Deep clean detail - 1 days work - deposit £50
Paint Correction Detail - 2 days work - deposit £100
Deposits can either be paid to me in cash or can be paid via paypal,
paypal details to follow

I can assure you, as can the people who had their cars done in May the money spent is well worth it, I thought I cleaned my car well myself until I saw what it was like after Tim spent some time on it
If you are still in doubt, have a look at these threads
Included in this first thread are details of the 11 Hours Tim spent on my car last October

Tim is a professional automotive detailer with years of experience and training, he has detailed nearly every type of car imaginable for everything from privee's to concours to everyday runners.
There are quite a few valeters over here on the island but no one does what Tim does or if there is (but I am not aware of them) they certainly do not have Tim's experience or qualifications
Check out the last car Tim did

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask either Tim or myself on this thread or by PM.
Quotes for work can also be obtained via PM
So if you are interested, copy the list and add your own name to the bottom

Just looks better & better each time I see it - I'm very envious but you deserve to have such fantastic looking scoob after all the hard work you've put into it
Thanks for the great comments. It has a way to go yet though before I will consider it finished.

yes mate still got them, just moved them along with a whole load of other parts from the garage to the loft on Monday to clear some space
give MadManx a shout as they are actually his from the P1, I will ask him the next time I speak to him too

Crikey! Been a while since I updated this thread.
Not much been going on really except things breaking and trying to keep the use of the car to a minimum.
I think I mentioned before that the rear diff was making some awful noises, well it has got about 10 times worse. I think I am lucky the diff has not chewed itself to pieces and that the car is still usable.
The other thing is a broken near side rear shock which is now knocking on every small lump in the road let alone the larger ones.
I have a new rear shock coming from Whitline which should be here by the end of the week and I have a new diff for the car.
The rear diff has come from MadManx's P1, only problem with that though is the ratios are different to my car so I am swapping out the gearbox in the car for the one out the P1. This will obviously driving the bill up somewhat but there are a couple of benifits in the swap. I will have a shorter throw on the gearstick and the ratios from first to fourth are quite a bit shorter than the current gearing in the car meaning it will be even quicker off the mark (as if it needed to be quicker) and I will also have a UK fifth meaning motorway runs are scream free.
I am also having all the goodies I got from Whiteline last October fitted at last and the clutch sent off to AP to have the pucks on the paddles replaced.
The car is booked into Ian @ PACE next wednesday, cant wait to get it back

price pics and spec please
You do realise what section this is in mate?
If you want pics then search this section for Emz' post when she first got it
Shame it has come to this Emz but I understand, good luck with the sale, and hey, at least you still have one scoob in the family

How did this go John?
I could not come as I was out with MadManx on a 4x4 event in his landy, was awesome fun and uber muddy, cant remember the last time I was so muddy, probably when I was about 10 or something. LOVED IT!!
-
How about putting some pics up with a bit more info on the cars history?
-
whats your requirments? what spec? UK or JDM? STi or WRX? what year? standard or modded?
-
Never seen this car around but for some reason seems familiar
has it recently been brought to the island?
Ad says it's a MY99, I would have said more like MY97-98 as it still has the old style bumper but has the updated bonnet, headlights, grill and dash layout. Would be interesting to see under the bonnet to see the location of the coil pack just to confirm.
It could be a version 4 that was not first registered until '99 and the owner is just looking at the log book although they are claiming it is a facelift 99 model, but again it has the old style front bumper as mine did when I got it
Fair play though it looks clean in the pics, not sure about the interior but that is personal taste
milage is not mentioned in the ad
no harm in going for a skeet though

How's the little one doing mate?
-
I am sure baby Hurst will be fine
-
Congrats mate, thats great news
-
I hope you can make it mate, it will be good to meet you
-
Tim arrives tonight and it looks as though he is going to be busy, he has a full schedule for the time he is here
If anyone can help with THIS we would be extremely gratefull
Nick, I hope you managed to get hold of Tim and he got your car into his schedule
-
A meet gives us all a chance to get together and catch up with those we already know and make friends with those we dont.
The relationship the car scene has with the Police on the island is pretty good to be honest. The only reason they would have to point a gun at you is if you were speeding through a restricted area which you should not be doing anyway regardless if you are out for a meet or not
Come along on sunday and see what its all about, check out HERE for details
-
whats the time frame for getting them? you gonna have them on for the meet on the 10th?
looking forward to seeing the pics

52-55 seems way high to me John
