  1. Folks The wagon seems to be sitting a bit on the high side, and I was looking for some advice on lowering. Any suggestions for springs only or should I renew whole suspension? I dont want the ride to get any firmer (unless I can adjust what I put in) but that sounds like it will be expensive. I have Whiteline anti roll bars and an antilift kit fitted - if that makes any difference. Would I need to get the tracking redone? Cheers, Corrie
  2. Me again As well as needing an MOT done, I'd like to get my 2001 bugeye wagon serviced before winter. Main issue is that I know the sump plug has had the threads stripped, so would prefer to get that fixed so I can take care of changing the oil myself in the future. Anybody know of someone that could change the sump (I could supply) and do a service?? Suggestions for either taken.. Many thanks, Corrie
  3. Hi All My bugeye's due an MOT in November, so looking for some feedback on local garages. Would prefer near Westhill or Dyce. The car has been modified and I don't one anyone mucking about with it. Any suggestions? Cheers Corrie
  4. In my youth, I spent some time doing car valeting and we seemed to used celulose thinners to remove anything from anything. Not sure just how dodgy that is nowadays but if you think it will disolve I'd try tar remover first and then, failing that, celulose thinners. I found the Autoglym tar remover to be particularly good. If its a hard glue compound then not sure. CJE
  5. Hi I used one of these in my 2001 bug. "Autoleads fp006 radio blank tray hole filler." Corrie
  6. Great day guys and a big thanks to the organisers for all their work. First time for my wagon and me on a track and I totally enjoyed the experience. May have to book a bit of time down at Knockhill to smooth things out, but a great day anyway. Roll on the next one. Cheers Corrie
  7. Thanks guys. Very tempted to go early, but thought an Abz convoy would be good too. Folks - I've set up a potential meet for a convoy from Aberdeen side. See this post. Corrie
  8. I'll be there. Any convoy from the East? or do we want to join up with the troops from Perth? Corrie
  9. Cheers Gus. I'm guessing the threads will be goosed, so I'm contemplating taping out to a slightly bigger size and getting a bigger plug. This is a really common problem - I found loads of hits on Google for this sort of thing. Talk of taping and sealants but I'd like a good solid metal fix if I can. Thanks Corrie
  10. Cheers. I'll keep that in mind, if the rethread goes wrong. Corrie
  11. Hi all Noticed a small oil leak under the car a couple of days ago and have discovered that the sump plug is leaking - threads are stripped. Sump replacement looks like a fairly involved job, so I'm looking for some recommendations as to where to take it to get it done. Thanks Corrie
  12. Car booked into Paint Technic for next week. Chap was really friendly and an ex-scooby owner too. Will let you all know how I get on. Cheers Corrie
  13. I'll add them to the list. Thanks. PS. Kinghorn came back at almost £700 - thats both doors and front wing. ouch!
  14. Kinghorn say both doors and the front wing, just to make sure it matches. Will be sitting down when the quote comes through.
  15. Thanks all. I'm going past Blackburn tomorrow anyway, so will see what Kinghorn want to charge. Cheers Corrie
  16. One for the locals. The lacquer is peeling on one of my doors and I was looking for a local (Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire) paintshop that someone could recommend. The paint looks fine, so I'm wondering if this is just a light rub down and re-lacquer, or does it end up being a full respray. Cheers, Corrie
  17. Hi Jon I think I've left you a PM for an order. Do you have anything? Cheers Corrie
