Just a wee exercise to see who has got the most powerful uk spec 'standard' classic impreza....??? By 'Standard' , i mean no uprated engine internals or engine swaps. Exhausts, filters, re-maps, uprated fuel pumps are considered, but uprated injectors, cams, con rods etc would'nt count...!!! I know you're all thinking why, but im bored and just wondering what i could aspire to in the old girl myself...!!! Looking forward to hearing some of the responses, hopefully not the one's that say you fu**wit...!!!

Spotted last night (monday 26th) around 19.30 ish, going down maryhill road at science park. Blue classic with white STi stickers over the boot and mudflaps, STi spoiler also. Well after all the negative comments regarding sh*t driving, then for f*cks sake mate, tailgaiting me then tailgating the wee silver corsa in the outside lane is not on. Yeah you got a fast car, learn how to drive it. Pity the corsa didnt slam his brakes on harder, you might have learnt a lesson. Did wave out of courtesy before you acted like a pillock, wont do it again...! P.S. because you have pod gauges mounted, try and take your eyes off them so you can see that your driving was pretty off. Not a good advert for the rest of the members of the subaru community. Name and shame is the way to go, Rant over.

Have any other classic owners noticed that the newage boys and girls seem somewhat reluctant to give a wee wave to us in our classics..??? Was out down at ardrossan today and passed a couple of hawkeye's. neither gave a wave, only a sideways glance towards my flagged hand..!! Always thought it was nice to be courteous, never had anything but wee waves back from other classic owners......maybe its just my grimacing coupon...!!! Also while im here........is the engine in the jap spec type r the same as in the british P1...??? only asking coz im thinking of 'upgrading' and have heard that there are a few probs with the P1's at aroung 60000 miles? Or is that just chinese whispers...??

I've just tried getting a quote on Peoples champion.com....!! I know it sounds as though its a site for old farts, but it gave me back a quote from liverpool victoria for £332. That's for a 30yr old, with 10yrs ncb, no convictions, courtesy car, protected ncb, and with £250 excess for an accidental claim and £250 excess if the car is stolen. Not bloody bad, since most of the quotes i was getting were nearer the £450 mark. Give them a try, im bloody glad i did....!!!

thanks for the info guys... got in contact with asp, got the ferodo's no probs bloody good bloke at asp gave me discount and free delivery..!! also tried camskill for discs and bearings, top guys there also,..! miles cheaper than anywhere else for bearings. (subaru wanted £250 notes for bearings...!!!) WTF....!!! just need to get them fitted now...!!!

soz, 4got to ask, if the ebc pads are any good? also, which to use.....red or green stuff...???

Hi guys, just wondering if any of you know where i could source ferodo ds2500 rear pads for a MY99 classic uk turbo...? been searchin' and only found ebc red/green stuff pads or ferodo's for 94-98 spec cars. cheers in anticipation.

Just had a prob with mine which sounds pretty similar. THe backing plate on the NSF caliper was rubbing and creating a grinding noise at low speed. it faded when over 35mph and didnt notice it again until slowing down. solution - adjust backing plate. dunno if this may help..???

Hi all, been looking for an old thread on a company who does decent deals on above names pads for a 99 classic. But guess what, i cannie find it! i think the company was somat like arp trading, but im having no joy on google! please help!

ok, here goes....!! im' looking at getting a new dump valve, but not too sure about the differences between an atmospheric or re-circulating one? which one would be suitable for a 99 uk turbo...?? also i've heard that baileys dump valves are pretty shi**y, so can anyone recommend a decent manufacturer..?? Cheers.. pps... when is the next glasgow meet..? looking to come along to say hi and meet all those peeps who keep giving me friendly waves..!
