  1. Massive thanks to Blake for plugging in his code reader last night and giving me peace of mind for my trip through to Falkirk today for the cars service. Cheers, Melly
  2. That would be perfect mate. As you can see from my time of reply im currently on nightshift so if you could also add what time would suit you best in the pm that would be great too. Cheers, Melly
  3. Yes Neil it's purely due to age and not miles. It's been serviced every year in April by subaru since new. Sometimes only 2k miles between services Cheers, Melly
  4. Was wondering if any kind soul could be of assistance please. Only had my 03 sti for around 2 weeks now. I have noticed that at very low revs the car likes to kangaroo/hesitate when accelerating but this is intermittent. It is due its annual service this month so i booked it in with Grieves to have the 90k service carried out. I noticed that this service includes the change of spark plugs so i thought that maybe they were the cause of my problems due to age/condition and have ordered grade 7 plugs as i plan to increase the power a fair bit later this year. I had the car running outside my house this evening after it was doing its kangaroo/hesitating jig and decided to disconnect the maf to see if that was working ok. Car started to idle irraticaly and as soon as i plugged it back in the car was idling as normal. I decided to take the car with me to work tonight and whilst doing a steady 40mph and with no previous spirited driving the engine management light came on and has stayed on. I was hoping someone local to me could lend a hand with the use of an obd II code reader. I dont know if disconnetcting the maf has caused this EML or if it is totally unrelated but i would like to get the code checked before driving all the way through to Falkirk on Wednesday for the service. I'm hoping its something simple like the front lambda sensor Just for reference, the car has 30k miles from new, PPP fitted, prodrive exhaust replaced with blitz nur spec r but retaining sports cat. It had a turbosmart vta dumpvalve fitted but this was replaced with the standard recirc valve outside the sellers house (yes i cant stand them) Cheers, Melly
  5. Thanks for the nice comments lads Cheers, Melly
  6. Must be a small cat in the centre pipe then. I didnt even notice that when i fit my nur spec r to my hawkeye sti Cheers, Melly
  7. I thought newage STIs only had the one cat in the downpipe? Cheers, Melly
  8. Paint finish looks fantastic. Bet you cant wait to see it all back together for the first time. Cheers, Melly

  11. After being sutibly impressed with myself for buying another impreza last saturday it turns out the wagon has a bit of a history and therefore i will not be purchasing it. I was informed of this at the beginning of the week by a real top guy and he has saved me a lot of heartache. Not to be dettered i got back on the google machine and after a few days found myself another. This time its a Blob STI 2003/03 STI Type UK Silver PPP 30k miles 9 subaru service stamps in the book with invoices, every single receipt from the day it was first sold, every MOT and Tax disc. Blitz nur spec r 18" Ultralite G-Grids My good friend and fellow SIDC member RS Grant took me through to view the car on wednesday night and after a couple of hours a deal was struck and i left a deposit. Due to the fact i dont get a day off from work until sunday and Grant is currently on holiday he went through and picked it up for me this afternoon. At last i have another scoob on the drive and im extremely pleased with it. Just need to sell my s2000 now and i'll be sorted. Cheers, Melly
  12. Gav I'll give you a call tomorrow at work if that's ok. Cheers, Melly
  13. Well it seems I will be a Scoob owner once more. Picking up my hawkeye wagon on Saturday. 06 plate (£270 a year RFL) 35k miles 2 Previous owners Crystal grey 18" wheels Upgraded stereo It has all the prodrive parts but wasn't advertised with PPP, nor does it have the certificate. This is not a great concern as it will be suitably fettled with by me anyway. Really looking forward to picking it up next weekend now and making it my own. If the previous owner is on here give me a shout. No plate SN06 OSA. Cheers, Melly
  14. Lol Glyn, i would have just posted up pics of the RS and done a little write up if i wanted everyone to know You'll have a chance to see it at the next dunee meet i promise Cheers Melly
  15. I've seen this car near every morning on my way to work for the last week. I usually pass you around 7:50am going in the other direction. I would normal give you a flash of the lights or a wave but i'm not in my scoob anymore i'm in the RS. Cheers Melly
  16. Have you bought the R32 Ryan or just test driven. Cheers Melly
  17. These are fictional statements. No laws were harmed in the making of our adventure story Cheers Melly
  18. Thanks for the support guys. Feeling a bit better now after some sleep Just went and had a read of his f/s thread and RBAZ who bought a mint bugeye WRX for a Scottish lad last year or the year before is now interested in that type r. Thing is RBAZ is from France. Think i better send him a pm and warn him so the same doesn't happen to him. As for a link to the car: http://bbs.scoobynet.com/private-sale-cars...sti-type-r.html http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1484939.htm As for posting on Snet. Grant is going to do that today. He is a well known member on there and his views will be taken seriously where as mines will just be tumbleweed. Mikeyb13, thanks for the message mate. Cheers Melly
  19. Hi All, well what a day i've had. 3 Weeks ago i stupidly sold my modded Hawkeye Sti and have missed it ever since so today i went to buy it's replacement I had always said after buying and owning the hawkeye that i could never go for a classic. Around 4 or 5 years ago when on an SIDC run, i was in RS Grants reddish blue wagon and we were following Playsatans black type r and i just fell in love with it. Ever since then i have wanted a V5/6 Type R. So................... I Seen a V6 cool grey Type R and had spoken to the lad after he had posted it up on S/net. It looked very nice in the pics and he answered my many many questions. So i booked two train tickets for myself and RS Grant who came down with me all the way to Andover. 500 miles and 9 hours on loads of trains. When we eventually got there i phoned him and he picked us up. I sat in the back to get a good listen to the diff which was very noisey. The rear calipers were sticking and clicking during and after use and the rear struts were knocking and crashing over bumps and potholes. He drove it very poorly too holding onto gears far too long and after giving it a bit of stick he turned it straight off on arrival to his home. Not a fan already. When we got to his place and got out, i had a look at the interior which was very worn and the seats were covered in bobbles and generally very tatty. Got out and noticed he had washed half of the car from the roof down to maybe the door handles. Edges of the doors were chipped to death, there was over 10 dents in the paintwork and some had black marks still in them like they had been kicked. The rear quarter had been painted very very badly and looked like it had been done with a scouring pad. The bonnet was raised higher than the wings indicating a slow speed front ender as it has buckled up. The edges of the tyres were worn to death and the side skirts were gouged through to the plastic in some places. As you can imagine i was shocked and rather annoyed. He told me it was in excellent condition and the only dent was a shopping trolley ding in the drivers side front wing which he said he had proffessionally repaired. When i pointed it out to him he said "yeah i told you about that one" obviously forgetting he said he fixed it. Every single panel had dents no smaller than a 5p peice and some the size of a 50p. When Grant noticed the paint on the rear quarter his reply was that he had never seen that and it must have been done in Japan. This says 2 things. 1 He is lying or 2 He cares nothing for the car as it was glaringly obvious and he has had it for 3 years so hasn't once polished it. In the end i just told him i wasn't interested and we headed back to the train station. At this point i am now £300 out of pocket and Grant and i are stranded in a tiny town. We spent some time going over our options and decided the best thing to do was get a train to woking, bus to heathrow and then hire a car to get us home. In total i am now £600 out of pocket, absolutely knackered and pretty disappointed. On a lighter note i must say a massive thankyou to Grant for coming with me and making the whole thing barring the car disaster fell like a nice but weird day out with loads of great banter and rant so cheers mate. Hopefully i can find something more worthy of my time and get back into the scoob fold. Just hope its not another 1000 mile round trip in one day. Cheers Melly
  20. Gizza shot of your new car until i get my own then Ecky has already asked for it but you can have it after him mate. Cheers Melly
  21. Got it yesterday morning after my nightshift. Sat down to play the game for an hour or so before bed............ 7 hours later with the game completed and me totally exhausted i went for a kip. Fantastic game, action sequences get your heart pumping thats for sure. First hour is pretty slow whilst it teaches you the controls but after that you have to just get stuck in as it doesn't play nice if you make mistakes. I managed to finish it with all 4 main characters alive. Its like watching a film where you just cant wait to find out who done it but you are always kept busy and the gameplay is fresh and innovative. Cheers Melly
  22. I had a 3" 100 cell sports cat downpipe from them in a s/net group buy. Fit was perfect and i never had any problems with it. Cheers Melly
  23. lol Just driving about in my new toyota prius.....chat later......cant stop. Cheers Melly
  24. If you have heard my hawkeye with the nur spec r fitted you will be under no illusion that it has unequal length manifolds as standard. Burbles like the best of them. Cheers Melly
